Summary

Index No: MRTN103150; Collected By: Thomas B. Nolan; Sample Type: hand sample; thin section; Notes: Location taken from Mizpah Mine shaft; Grayish-green groundmass with some small chalky white, rather poorly outlined feldspars. Also a few shreds of chlorite, probably from femags. Small to medium feldspar phenocrysts, faintly clouded from kaolin, and partly sericitized, probably of albiclase type but twinning rarely shows, all in a fine-grained groundmass of feldspar, chlorite and a little secondary quartz. Apatite and zircon are present, and a few flakes of bleached iotite with rutile concentrations. Large irregular patches of pale green chlorite with abundant small specks of rutile and black iron oxides. Looks very much like M.T.
