Index No: MRTN103240; Collected By: Thomas B. Nolan; Sample Type: hand sample; thin section; Notes: Location taken from Belmont Mine shaft; White inclusions in a grayish groundmass. A breccia of apparently angular to subrounded particles of glass and fragments of TF, now slightly sericitized and kaolinized, with a groundmass largely of quartz with lesser amounts of sericite and a little adularia. It is possible that this might all be a quartz replacement of a glass, but in many places the small grains of quartz appear clastic and there is a bedding suggested by greater preponderance of quartz grains in one portion of slide and glass in the other.
