Summary
Radioactive mineral deposit locations were compiled on maps and lists, as well as production data/deposit summaries, in the CGS report: Nelson-Moore, J.L., Collins, D.B., and Hornbaker, A.L., 1978, Radioactive Mineral Occurrences of Colorado, Colorado Geological Survey Bulletin 40, 1,054 p. This comprehensive report contains 12 map plates that record the location of radioactive minerals, including past mined deposits, throughout Colorado. Also, the report contains compilations of production (if available), deposit type, mineral, and other data associated with each location. Most of the records are associated with uranium/vanadium deposits but also include deposits containing REEs and other minerals.

Purpose
Colorado hosts potential economic deposits of vanadium and uranium, and has a long history of
mining associated with these two critical minerals. In some areas, these radioactive mineral deposits are associated with REEs.
