Purpose
Bedrock geologic mapping is foundational information describing solid earth resources, landscapes, geochemistry, and rock aquifers, for societal needs, infrastructure, economic, habitat, and environmental quality applications. Digital compilation and GeMS geodatabase production serve to preserve this geoscience data, facilitate discovery, and improve interoperability for multiple geospatial environmental, economic, and societal investigations through the nationally adopted geologic map schema [GeMS].

All data produced by the Connecticut Geological Survey, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is available to the public, Mapping published as geoPDFs, maintained as ArcGIS shapefiles in geodatabases, final map layout archived. Published maps and reports available as downloadable PDF full scale docs.
