Samples were analyzed for gold, platinum and palladium by fire assay pre-concentration of a 30-gram sample followed by either an atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA), inductively coupled argon plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) or inductively coupled argon plasma-mass spectroscopy(ICP-MS) finish. Mercury analysis utilized cold vapor AA methods. Selected samples were analyzed for sulfur using infrared spectroscopy. The remaining elements were analyzed by ICP-AES following partial digestion of approximately 0.5 grams of sample. Analytical values above ICP-AES detection limits are often obtained for a few selected elements. Over detection analyses use low-level assay methods consisting of a multi acid digestion and an AA finish. [...]
