The laboratories analyzed samples for gold, platinum and palladium by fire assay pre-concentration of a 30-gram sample followed by an atomic absorption spectroscopy (AA) finish (for gold) and an inductively coupled argon plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) or inductively coupled argon plasma-mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) finish (for platinum and palladium). Silver, copper, lead, zinc, and molybdenum were analyzed by ICP-AES and following a digestion of approximately 0.5 grams of sample in aqua regia (partial digestion).
