Summary

Rock core in Hartford quadrangle, Ohio County, Kentucky penetrating Pennsylvanian strata. This core is part of the WKUG series. Continuous core holes drilled in 1984 by the Kentucky Geological Survey under a contract with DOE. The objective was to obtain coal samples for methane desorption. The cores penetrate the Carbondale and Tradewater formations.
