Summary

These data were compiled for evaluating plant water use, or river-reach level evapotranspiration (ET) data, in the riparian corridor of the Colorado River delta as specified under Minute 319 of the 1944 Water Treaty. The seven reach areas from the Northerly International Boundary (NIB) to the end of the delta at the Sea of Cortez were defined for research activities. Also, these seven reaches are being monitored under Minute 323 of the 1944 Water Treaty. Purpose

Landsat satellite data (30 m resolution) were collected and processed for the Lower Colorado River delta which starts below Morelos dam and continues 150 km into Mexico and includes the riparian woodland ecosystem within the seven reaches. The purpose of these river-reach level evapotranspiration (ET) data are to provide estimates of the long-term riparian community water use for seven reaches in the delta over 21 years from 2000 through 2020. These data were designed and created to assist end users in utilizing the restoration water use information and may be used by researchers that assist both land and water managers for federal and tribal governments, as well as NGOs. Additionally, these data could be useful to researchers interested in a wide variety of analyses that use specific time-series peak growing season ET remote sensing data for the Lower Colorado River delta in Mexico.
