Summary

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the City of South Padre Island, Texas, collected baseline bathymetric data for a near-shore area of the Laguna Madre near South Padre Island in July 2021. Bathymetric survey points were collected using real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System (RTK-GNSS) equipment. The data included in this data release are presented in a comma-separated values (csv) file format.

Purpose

The purpose of this data release is to present bathymetric survey data, collected at a near-shore area of the Laguna Madre near South Padre Island, Texas. The data are intended to provide baseline information and to support possible future projects and efforts to protect and restore shoreline habitat and resources.
