Purpose

The purpose of compiling this data is to provide refined correlations for lignite beds in the Paleocene Fort Union Formation. The refined correlations were compiled as part a study for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) showing the areal extent of potentially economic lignite and leonardite beds in the Williston Basin in North Dakota.
