Summary

These data sets have been developed to provide preliminary hydraulic culvert models designed to convey the 10- and 4-percent annual exceedance probability (AEP) flood flows based on Massachusetts Department of Transportation highway functional classification and associated hydraulic design flow (2020) and to meet the Massachusetts Stream Crossing Standards (SCS) developed by River and Stream Continuity Partnership (2006). The Microsoft Excel file “Hydraulic_Model_Data_Summary.xlsx” contains data tables that summarize and compare the SCS and preliminary culvert designs for the field survey and GIS derived data. The data for the existing culvert designs are also provided in this document. The data release child item titled “Hydraulic [...]

Purpose

These hydraulic models and the hydraulic model data output summary provide a comparison analysis between field surveyed and automated GIS-derived river cross section data for selected stream crossing sites in the Squannacook River Basin. These data serve as an accuracy assessment of the automated GIS methods developed to produce preliminary culvert design hydraulic models at existing culvert locations.
