Twenty-eight samples of new (2018-19) or archived (2008-09) particulate material from the Bremerton Naval Complex or surface sediment from Sinclair Inlet or representative bays in Puget Sound were analyzed for total mercury and mercury isotopes.

Purpose

The data provide information regarding sources of mercury in Sinclair Inlet. This supports of on-going investigations by the USGS, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of the Navy, to identify sources and transport pathways of contaminants from the Bremerton Naval Complex to Sinclair Inlet, Puget Sound, Washington. These data are associated with a USGS Scientific Investigations Report (add DOI when available).
