Summary
The landslide occurred in Sparta, Sussex County and was about 40 feet deep, 40 feet wide and two hundred feet long. It was on Main Street near the intersection of Station Road near Route 517. The landslide occurred on March 14th, 2010 during heavy rain. The road was closed for a few days to non-emergency vehicles for cleanup and until engineers could inspect the stability of the hill where the mudslide occurred.
