Summary

This tabular data set represents monthly water balance model outputs over the period 1950-2005 compiled for NHDPlus version 2 data suite (NHDPlusv2) catchments. This dataset can be linked to the NHDPlusv2 by the unique identifier COMIDin the flowline shapefiles or FEATUREID in the catchment ones in the NHDPlusV2 data suite. The source data is CMIP5 MACAv2-METDATA Monthly Water Balance Model Projections 1950-2099 for the Contiguous United States (Alder & Hostetler, 2021). Variables summarized are: actual evapotranspiration, evapotranspiration deficit, potential evapotranspiration, runoff, snow water equivalent, and soil moisture storage. Six General Circulation Models (GCMs) are summarized for each variable: BNU-ESM, HadGEM2-ES365, [...]

Purpose

This data release was created for the project “Thresholds in Fluvial Fish Vulnerability to Climate-change Induced Flow Alteration” as part of the U.S. Geological Survey's Ecosystems Mission area Priority Ecosystems Studies Large Landscapes program. This data release was undertaken to compile climate data for NHDPlusV2 catchments and their upstream river networks to support statistical analysis and model parameterization.
