Summary

Industrial mineral site no. 1759, known as "Sheep Mountain Area" is a site in Ferry County, Washington. This site has been associated with limestone and marble. A notation found in DGER Bulletin 48 on page 209-210 says "Muessig and Quinlan (1959) show Sheep Mountian to be composed of marble, dark siliceous marble, and phyllite, or pre-Permian age, closely folded along north-trending axes", and designates the value as "The analyses show that the rock is very siliceous; the SiO2 content of some samples exceeds the CaO content. The rock has no apparent value".
