Purpose

1) Identify how non-industrial private forest owners and ranchers can increase carbon sequestration through sustainable forest and range management practices and be financially compensated; 2) provide insights into the supply side of carbon sequestration on private forests and rangelands; 3) inform future climate-related legislation and carbon market development; 4) inform strategies for extension and outreach to landowners; and 5) contribute to the scholarly literature about the social and environmental implications of carbon management and commodifying carbon.
