Summary

This map depicts the geology of the Huachuca City 7.5' quadrangle in Cochise County, southeastern Arizona, which consists almost entirely of upper Cenozoic surficial deposits. The map area is located between Benson and Sierra Vista along the western side of the upper San Pedro River Valley. The map area covers much of the southeastern piedmont of the Mustang and Whetstone mountains, part of the valley of the Babocomari River, and part of the northern piedmont of the Huachuca Mountains. It includes the small communities of Huachuca City and Whetstone, and the northern fringe of Fort Huachuca, a U.S. Army base.
