Summary

This software release provides the database application that runs the Connecticut Streamflow and Sustainable Water Use Estimator (CT SSWUE) computer program (version 1.0). The CT SSWUE was developed by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, to provide a planning-level decision-support tool designed to help decision makers estimate daily mean streamflows and selected streamflow statistics that can be used to assess sustainable water use at ungaged sites in Connecticut. The CT SSWUE provides estimates of unaltered streamflow (which is assumed to include effects of minimal human development but not the effects of instream regulation or water use), net streamflow [...]

Purpose

The CT SSWUE was developed by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, to provide a planning-level decision-support tool designed to help decision makers estimate daily mean streamflows and selected streamflow statistics that can be used to assess sustainable water use at ungaged sites in Connecticut.

Rights

The information, data, and metadata in this application were prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP). This model was compiled for planning-level analysis of the sustainable yield of a basin. Although the methods and data were rigorously reviewed and are substantially complete and accurate, this application uses provisional data, and water-resource projections are subject to considerable uncertainty. The USGS and the CT DEEP reserve the right to revise the data and methods pursuant to further analysis and review. These data and this software have been used by the USGS, and are released on condition that the USGS, the CT DEEP, or the U.S. Government may not be held liable for any damages resulting from their use. Information and numerical methods used in this relational database are attributable to the cited works. Copyright protection under Title 17 is not available for any work of the U.S. Government (17 USC §105). This database application is provided solely for the purposes of private study, scholarship, or research. Therefore, the information in this database is in the public domain for these purposes but may not be available for some commercial uses. The use of trade or product names in this database is for identification purposes only and does not constitute endorsement by the U.S. Government or the CT DEEP.
