Summary

These data are microgravity measurements collected at the summit of Kilauea Volcano, Hawaii. Data are collected using multiple instruments, with each file representing measurements from a specific instrument during a specific time period. The data dictionary explains the file format and contents, and the dataset will be updated as new measurements are collected.

Purpose

Microgravity data from Kilauea are collected to assess changes over time, which may be related to mass variations in the subsurface. These mass variations may indicate the accumulation or withdrawal of magma within subsurface reservoirs. Information based on microgravity data can aid knowledge of volcanic processes and hazards, and can inform interpretations of volcanic activity, including forecasts of future changes.
