Summary

The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) SPAtially Referenced Regression On Watershed attributes (SPARROW) model was used to aid in the interpretation of monitoring data and simulate streamflow and water-quality conditions in streams across the Pacific Region of the Unites States. SPARROW is a hybrid empirical/process-based mass balance model that can be used to estimate the major sources and environmental factors that affect the long-term supply, transport, and fate of contaminants in streams. The spatially explicit model structure is defined by a river reach network coupled with contributing catchments. The model is calibrated by statistically relating watershed sources and transport-related properties to monitoring-based water-quality [...]

Purpose

This USGS data release contains all of the input and output files needed to reproduce the model results described in Wise (2019, https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20195112). Model input and output text files provided here can be linked (via the comid attribute) to the shapefiles that are also provided for displaying data as maps.

Provenance

Revision 1.1 by Daniel Wise on June 10, 2020. To review the changes that were made, see “data_release_revision_record” in the attached files section. On September 28, 2020, the authors added pac_sparrow_model_output_tn.txt, which mistakenly was removed during the June 2020 revision. No changes were made to this file since the original data release in January 2020.
