Summary

The dataset contains data from a GPS survey conducted after a flow event on November 29, 2019, at the USGS streamgage 09471580 - San Pedro River at St David, AZ. The survey, conducted on December 5, 2019, documents cross section geometry and high-water marks from the flow event in the reach downstream from the gage. One CSA pin elevation at CSA 09471588 - San Pedro River below Dragoon Wash at St David, AZ, was also surveyed. The other three CSA sensors at 09471588 were destroyed during the November 29, 2019, flow event.

Purpose

Gage height and discharge data are collected at U.S. Geological Survey streamgage 09471580 - San Pedro River at St David, AZ. A flow event occurred on November 29, 2019. A GPS survey was conducted on December 5, 2019, to document cross section geometry and high-water marks from the flow event. The data were collected to compute peak discharge for the November 29, 2019, flow event using the slope-area method. Continuous slope-area (CSA) sensors collect stage data in two reaches downstream from streamgage 09471580. CSA 09471587 - Dragoon Wash above San Pedro River at St David, AZ, is instrumented with CSA sensors at three cross sections. CSA 09471588 - San Pedro River below Dragoon Wash at St David, AZ, is located downstream from the confluence of Dragoon Wash and the San Pedro River and is instrumented with CSA sensors at four cross sections. The CSA reaches were installed to measure peak discharge for stage-discharge rating development for streamgage 09471580. The CSA sensors were installed on June 21, 2018. The four CSA sensors at CSA 09471588 - San Pedro River below Dragoon Wash at St David, AZ, were moved streamward in October 2019 to prevent sensors from becoming buried during flow events. Three CSA sensors at 09471588 were destroyed during the November 29, 2019, flow event. The remaining CSA pin elevation was surveyed on December 5, 2019.
