Managing water resources in semiarid watersheds is challenging because of limited water supply and uncertain impacts of future climate conditions on groundwater resources. This paper examines the impact of future climate changes on the urban Yucaipa Valley watershed in southern California using an integrated hydrological model referred to herein as the Yucaipa model. Coupled Groundwater and Surface-water FLOW (GSFLOW) modeling software was used to simulate the nonlinear relationships between climate trends and precipitation partitioning into evapotranspiration (ET), runoff, and subsurface storage. Four global climate models (also known as general circulation models or GCMs), each with two greenhouse-gas (GHG) scenarios:...

This dynamic data release presents an aquatic reflectance product with 20-meter spatial resolution derived from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery for the conterminous United States using the Atmospheric Correction for OLI “lite” (ACOLITE). Aquatic reflectance, noted Rhow in ACOLITE documentation, is defined here as unitless water-leaving radiance reflectance and represents the ratio of water-leaving radiance (units of watts per square meter per steradian per nanometer) to downwelling irradiance (units of watts per square meter per nanometer) multiplied by π. This is also known as remote sensing reflectance (units of per steradian) multiplied by π. These data are intended for use in remote sensing of water color and differ...

This data release contains the model inputs, outputs, and source code (written in R) for a redeveloped PRObability of Streamflow PERmanence (PROSPER) model (version 2.0) that had previously been developed for the Pacific Northwest Region (PROSPER_PNW_2), and a raster data set which shows where influential predictor values were outside the range of calibration data. The PROSPER-PNW model, a random forest model, was redeveloped in the Ranger R package using all the original model inputs consistent with PROSPER_PNW_2 to produce annual streamflow permanence probabilities for calendar years 2004-2016 at a 30-meter stream grid resolution that approximately corresponds to flowlines consistent with the National Hydrography...

Presented here are bathymetric data collected at Otter Creek near Oregon, Ohio. Data were collected on September 26, 2023, and were located bewtween the Millard Avenue bridge and the mouth at Lake Erie. The survey was completed using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) that was deployed from the side of a kayak. Data were georeferenced using a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) smart antenna with submeter accuracy. Data were collected along the thalweg and at cross sections spaced approximately every 300 feet. Data were processed first using WinRiver II (https://hydroacoustics.usgs.gov/movingboat/WinRiverII.shtml) and then using the bathymetry batch tool in the Velocity Mapping Toolbox (https://hydroacoustics.usgs.gov/movingboat/VMT/VMT.shtml)....

This product is a georectified and tonally balanced mosaic of aerial photographs collected in 1938 by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation along the floodplain of the Colorado River in Mohave Valley region of Arizona, California and Nevada. This dataset is a primary resource for the development of a geologic map showing the floodplain and river channel characteristics along the Colorado River in Mohave Valley prior to extensive impact from flow regulation by Hoover Dam. Georeferencing of individual photographs and mosaic generation were performed by Digital Aerial Solutions, LLC. In addition to the mosaic, the data release also includes individual digital aerial photographs (original scans and georeferenced) that cover...

This data release contains foreshore slopes for primarily open-ocean sandy beaches along the United States portion of the Gulf of Mexico (Texas through Florida). The slopes were calculated while extracting shoreline position from lidar point cloud data collected between 2001 and 2018. The shoreline positions have been previously published, but the slopes have not. An alongshore reference baseline was defined, and then 20-meter spaced cross-shore beach transects were created perpendicular to the baseline. All data points within 1 meter (alongshore) of each transect were associated with that transect. For each transect, the points on the foreshore were identified, and a linear regression was fit through the foreshore...

These files consist of scanned field notebooks from long-term research and monitoring conducted in the Loch Vale watershed, Rocky Mountain National Park from June 17, 1981, through September 19, 2023. There are 72 individual PDF files. They are accompanied by a spreadsheet that serves as a pointer to the contents of each notebook, including the range of years in each, start and end dates, field observers' names or initials, and whether the field notebook includes notes on specific sample collections or research activities. There is a column noting whether and when there was field equipment maintenance, whether the notebooks include sample sites outside Loch Vale watershed (and where), and names of the notebook scanners,...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa (FDLB), Minnesota, analyzed the hydrologic and hydraulic conditions within the Stoney Brook watershed. The Stoney Brook watershed covers an area of 100.8 square miles in Carlton and St. Louis counties with most of the watershed within the Fond du Lac Reservation. Wild rice, which is harvested by the FDLB, naturally grows in the lakes on the Fond du Lac Reservation and is susceptible to damage from increased water-levels after substantial rainfall events. Channel modifications and frequency rainfall events were simulated to assess lake level conditions that could mitigate potential damages to the wild rice yields....

Geochemical, petrophysical, and depth to the Paleozoic-Precambrian basement interface from drill hole data for Mesoproterozoic igneous rocks and iron ore deposits of the St. Francois Mountains, southeast Missouri (MMDB) are provided in this data release. The samples were collected as part of various agency programs and projects from 1967 through 2019. Most samples were collected by agency personnel and analyzed in agency laboratories, under contracts in commercial analytical laboratories, or in the field. The geochemical data compilations include historical geochemical data archived in the USGS National Geochemical Database (NGDB), the Missouri Geological Survey (MGS) of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources,...
