Real-time kinematic survey of the Lower Pearl River bathymetry collected in 2014 and 2015 using: •Leica Smartnet Network •GS 14 Rover •CS 15 Controller •Seafloor single beam echo sounder & transducer Acquisition Strategy: zig zag coverage - not more than ½ channel width between successive bank passes. Duration: surveyed in fall 2014 and 2015. Dates of acquisition are included for 2015 collected data but were not consistently recorded for 2014 collected data. All 2014 data were collected between Sep - Dec 2014. The Streams and Rivers Condition Index is a broad ecological system index that classifies the landscape’s streams and river catchments into condition categories. The classification of the landscape in this manner is used to measure the relative departure of current wildlife habitat conditions from desired conditions as defined by parcel-level wildlife managers and landscape planners. The purpose of the index is to help practitioners determine appropriate next actions in each catchment, especially when used in conjunction with relevant species information. There are four condition categories, or classes, which range from the most ideal habitat conditions to the least ideal habitat conditions.

The lifespans of salt marshes in Atlantic-facing Eastern Shore of Virginia are calculated based on estimated sediment supply and sea-level rise (SLR) predictions, following the methodology of Ganju and others (2020). The salt marsh delineations are from Ackerman and others (2023). The SLR predictions are local estimates corresponding to increases of 0.3, 0.5 and 1.0 meter in global mean sea level (GMSL) by 2100, as projected by Sweet and others (2022). This work has been a part of the USGS’s effort to expand the national assessment of coastal change hazards and forecast products to coastal wetlands. This data release contains foreshore slopes for primarily open-ocean sandy beaches along the East Coast of the United States (Maine through Florida). The slopes were calculated while extracting shoreline position from lidar point cloud data collected between 1997 and 2018. The shoreline positions have been previously published, but the slopes have not. A reference baseline was defined, and then 20-meter equally-spaced cross-shore beach transects were created perependicular to the baseline. All data points within 1-meter (along-shore) of each transect were associated with that transect. Extraction of three types of point symbols from Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Web Soil Surveys for the state of Nebraska focusing on three symbol classes: WET (wet spot – turkey foot), MAR (marsh – grass patch), and DEP (depression – diamond) spot symbols. These symbols are similar to features found in hard copy published soils surveys, but have been updated since the publication of physical materials.

Assessing the distribution and abundance of both predator and prey (forage) fish species is a cornerstone of ecosystem-based based fishery management, and supports decision making that considers food-web interactions. In support of binational Great Lakes fishery management the objectives of this survey were to: provide estimates of densities of key forage and predator species in the western basin of Lake Erie, to assess seasonal and spatial distributions of fishes, and to assess year class strength. A systematic grid sampling approach with 41 stations was sampled during June (Spring) and September (Autumn), starting in 2013. This data release adds 2017 data to the set – making it five years of continuous observation.
