Natural resource managers consistently identify invasive species as one of the biggest challenges for ecological adaptation to climate change. Yet climate change is often not considered during their management decision making. Given the many ways that invasive species and climate change will interact, such as changing fire regimes and facilitating the migration of high priority species, it is more critical than ever to integrate climate adaptation science and natural resource management. This data set consists 23 transient electromagnetic (TEM) soundings collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in June 2020 as part of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Geothermal Resources Assessment: Phase 2 project. TEM data were collected in 100 x 100 m loops or 40 x 40 m loops along 4 profiles in areas of interest for geothermal potential. Files included in this publication include measured TEM soundings and 1-D resistivity models.

This dataset describes irrigation water use in Kansas in 2015. Volumes of water used, irrigated area, and average irrigation application depths are provided for three sets of subareas: (1) Irrigation water use analysis regions that include Groundwater Management Districts (GMDs) with the areas outside of GMDs divided into eastern, central, and western Kansas; (2) Regional Planning Areas (RPAs), which are 14 areas determined by the Kansas Water Office based on hydrologic and administrative boundaries, each with a set of goals outlined in the Kansas Water Vision (https://kwo.ks.gov/water-plan/water-vision); and (3) the 105 Kansas counties. A bare earth Digital Elevation Model (DEM) created from 2011 LiDAR LAS files for Austin and Colorado counties in Texas. LiDAR data collection was funded by the Texas Water Development Board. LiDAR LAS files were acquired from Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS). The DEM is a dataset that depicts the topography of the bare earth surface (i.e. surface minus vegetation, buildings, powerlines, etc). This dataset was developled to be used in conjunction with the DSM to create a vegetation height surface (nDSM). The LAS point cloud was filtered to ground points only and the mean z value was calculated. This presents a growing conservation challenge for invasive species managers in the southeastern United States where thousands of invasive species exist. This R code (PrepData.R) is used to process the quality controlled legacy nest card data (1985 - 2019) together with the observer names data to produce a capture history data set plot searched twice in 1995 to 1999. Second searches of plot are defined by the PLOTTYPE = “R2” in the nest cards data. This dataset contains images obtained from unmanned aerial systems (UAS) flown in the Cape Cod National Seashore. The objective of the field work was to evaluate the quality and cost of mapping from UAS images. Low-altitude (approximately 120 meters above ground level) digital images were obtained from cameras in a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flown from the lawn adjacent to the Coast Guard Beach parking lot on 1 March, 2016. The UAV was a Skywalker X8 flying wing operated by Raptor Maps, Inc., contractors to the U.S. Geological Survey. The Hudson Shelf Valley is the submerged seaward extension of the ancestral Hudson River drainage system and is the largest physiographic feature on the Middle Atlantic continental shelf. The valley begins offshore of New York and New Jersey at about 30-meter (m) water depth, runs southerly and then southeasterly across the Continental Shelf, and terminates on the outer shelf at about 85-m water depth landward of the head of the Hudson Canyon.
