This is a technical summary produced by MBM-AK biologists who participated in the 1993-1994 LOCI survey. The summary details the survey’s background, objectives, general description, significant conclusions, and results. This summary was likely submitted as a stipulation of the survey’s contract with Minerals Management Service (contract number: OCS Study MMS 94-0063). This document is referenced in the LOCI draft report memorandum, “LOCI_MMSReportMemo.docx”.

These data include the transect survey IDs; latitudes and longitude (decimal degrees) of transect midpoints; transect lengths; and transect areas corresponding to the winter 1994 LOCI survey. This is the tidied version of the “Winter 1994” tab data found in the “1993_1994_LOCI_TrasectMidpoints_Length_Area.xlsx” file; tidying was completed using R code (“1993_1994_LOCI_Transects_tidyData.R”; R version 4.1.1 (2021-08-10)).

For the past few years, “king tides,” or the highest tides of the year, have been occurring more frequently and significantly affecting coastal environments across HawaiÊ»i. Now, disappearing beaches and waves crashing over roadways are seemingly the “new normal.” In response, the state of HawaiÊ»i is implementing adaptation strategies to combat tidal flooding in coastal areas. While flood management strategies are being implemented in urban areas, less is known about how tidal flooding, and associated inundation into surface and groundwater, might influence watershed dynamics and the native animals that depend on estuarine environments where freshwater meets the sea. Efforts for biocultural restoration of ecosystem...
This dynamic data release presents an aquatic reflectance product with 20-meter spatial resolution derived from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery for the conterminous United States using the Atmospheric Correction for OLI “lite” (ACOLITE). Aquatic reflectance, noted Rhow in ACOLITE documentation, is defined here as unitless water-leaving radiance reflectance and represents the ratio of water-leaving radiance (units of watts per square meter per steradian per nanometer) to downwelling irradiance (units of watts per square meter per nanometer) multiplied by π. This is also known as remote sensing reflectance (units of per steradian) multiplied by π. These data are intended for use in remote sensing of water color and differ...

This is the raw environmental and species enumeration data collected during the 2008 Harriman Fjord and Heather Bay surveys in Prince William Sound, Alaska. It was provided to MBM-AK by Andrew Allyn in August 2021 after he removed extraneous columns used internally to calculate specific statistics. These data have only been partially quality controlled but this was the cleanest document that Andrew Allyn was able to find. These data should not generally be used or distributed until they have undergone quality control.

This metadata record (‘NPPSD_v4.1 COPY)) was sourced from the NPPSD database which is managed and hosted by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)-Alaska Science Center. The following abstract was included with the NPPSD metadata and discusses the USGS Alaska Science Center’s NPPSD database. For additional details pertaining to NPPSD files, please consult the “readme.txt” document found in the database on the Alaska Regional Data Repository or contact USGS directly. The North Pacific Pelagic Seabird Database (NPPSD) was created in 2005 to consolidate data on the oceanic distribution of marine bird species in the North Pacific. Most of these data were collected using at-sea strip-transect surveys within defined areas and...

This data release contains the model inputs, outputs, and source code (written in R) for a redeveloped PRObability of Streamflow PERmanence (PROSPER) model (version 2.1) that had previously been developed for the Pacific Northwest Region (PROSPER_PNW_2), and a raster data set which shows where influential predictor values were outside the range of calibration data. The PROSPER-PNW version 2.1 model, a random forest model, was redeveloped in the Ranger R package using all the original model inputs consistent with PROSPER_PNW_2 to produce annual streamflow permanence probabilities for calendar years 2004-2016 at a 30-meter stream grid resolution that approximately corresponds to flowlines consistent with the National...
