This data release contains the model inputs, outputs, and source code (written in R) for a redeveloped PRObability of Streamflow PERmanence (PROSPER) model (version 2.0) that had previously been developed for the Pacific Northwest Region (PROSPER_PNW_2), and a raster data set which shows where influential predictor values were outside the range of calibration data. The PROSPER-PNW model, a random forest model, was redeveloped in the Ranger R package using all the original model inputs consistent with PROSPER_PNW_2 to produce annual streamflow permanence probabilities for calendar years 2004-2016 at a 30-meter stream grid resolution that approximately corresponds to flowlines consistent with the National Hydrography...

This dataset consists of annual raster maps of ecosystem carbon stocks, land use and land cover classes, and transition probabilities for the State of California during historical (1985-2020) and projected future (2021-2100) time periods. Data are simulation model output from the The Land Use and Carbon Simulator (LUCAS; Sleeter et al. 2022) run under different climate and land management scenarios. In January 2018, a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) team collected short cores and surface samples from four islands in Florida Bay, Everglades National Park, south Florida (Wingard et al. 2019). The 2018 samples were collected approximately five months after the passage of Hurricane Irma on September 10, 2017, as a category 4 storm. The four islands had also been cored in 2014. The goal of the long-term study of these four islands is to examine the impacts of climate and sea level on island formation and resilience, and to provide insights into the stability of the south Florida coastline. Recently, the United States Geological Survey’s (USGS) Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) program expanded stream monitoring networks including the number of sites where continuous (15-minute) specific conductance is measured in the Colorado River Headwaters and Gunnison River subbasins located east of the Colorado-Utah state line (hereafter, UCOL). Subaerial and submarine landslides adjacent to, and within, Glacier Bay, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve (GBNPP), Alaska pose a threat to the public because of their potential to generate ocean waves that could impact marine activities. Although historical records of tsunamis generated by landslides in GBNPP are uncommon, there are records that document the destructive power of at least three landslide-generated tsunamis in Lituya Bay on the west side of the park (Miller, 1960; Fritz, 2001). The two-dimensional (2D) hydraulic flow model iRIC FaSTMECH (Nelson, 2003) was used to simulate hydraulic conditions in the Kootenai River near Bonners Ferry, ID during white sturgeon spawning season during 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. Details on model development and calibration in FaSTMECH can be found in other studies (Dudunake and others, in progress; Barton and others, 2005; Barton and others, 2007; Logan and others, 2011; McDonald and others, 2016; McDonald and Nelson, 2018; McDonald and Nelson, 2020). Simulations were run with a 1-meter grid and six-hour time-steps from April 25 to August 15 of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. Simulated depths and depth-averaged velocities were exported.

This dataset contains genomic records from 184 California Gnatcatchers (Polioptila californica) collected at 18 sites in southern California (USA), 13 sites in Baja California (Mexico), and 17 sites in Baja California Sur (Mexico). Genomic markers were generated from ddRAD loci (Peterson and others, 2012) and analyzed using the Stacks v2.53 (Catchen and others, 2013) pipeline. The genotypes for all samples are provided in a VCF file with 84,125 independent loci and 7 percent missing data. A companion file is provided with sample names and occurrence designations. Information on water depth in river channels is important for a number of applications in water resource management but can be difficult to obtain via conventional field methods, particularly over large spatial extents and with the kind of frequency and regularity required to support monitoring programs. Remote sensing methods could provide a viable alternative means of mapping river bathymetry (i.e., water depth). This polygon dataset represents the tidal water shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. It is based primarily on shoreline data with horizontal positional accuracy of +/- 2meters provided by the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) Center for Coastal Resources Management (CCRM), with minor modifications in seven locations. In six instances, the modifications were made using the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) zero-foot sea level rise dataset, which represent mean higher high tide.
