A multiple machine-learning model (Asquith and Killian, 2024) implementing Cubist and Random Forest regressions was used to predict monthly mean groundwater levels through time for the available years described in the metadata for the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer (MRVA). The MRVA is the surficial aquifer of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain (MAP), located in the south-central United States. Employing two machine-learning techniques offered the opportunity to generate model and statistical error and covariance between them to estimate total uncertainty. Information on water depth in river channels is important for a number of applications in water resource management but can be difficult to obtain via conventional field methods, particularly over large spatial extents and with the kind of frequency and regularity required to support monitoring programs. San Fernando Earthquake, February 9, 1971, 6:01am PST. (Roll 9, Frame 8). Oblique air view northeast of collapsed structures at interchange of HIGHWAYS 5 and 210. The collapse of curved overpass at left and center is due to seismic shaking and to lateral extension of the north and south abutments thereby shortening the chord and putting the structure under compression. Continuation of collapsed structure can be seen near right margin. The collapsed decks above railroad (center right) were set on piers at each end. Seismic shaking moved piers away from each other, enough to remove support from decks. Rerouted other traffic in foreground, San Gabriel Mountains in background. Feb 11, 1971.

This data release consists of 1,984 line-kilometers of airborne electromagnetic (AEM), magnetic data and radiometric data collected from October to November 2017 in the upper East River and surrounding watersheds in central Colorado. The U.S. Geological Survey contracted Geotech Ltd. to acquire these data as part of regional investigations into the geologic structure and hydrologic framework of the area. In January 2018, a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) team collected short cores and surface samples from four islands in Florida Bay, Everglades National Park, south Florida (Wingard et al. 2019). The 2018 samples were collected approximately five months after the passage of Hurricane Irma on September 10, 2017, as a category 4 storm. The four islands had also been cored in 2014. The goal of the long-term study of these four islands is to examine the impacts of climate and sea level on island formation and resilience, and to provide insights into the stability of the south Florida coastline. This dataset consists of annual raster maps of ecosystem carbon stocks, land use and land cover classes, and transition probabilities for the State of California during historical (1985-2020) and projected future (2021-2100) time periods. Data are simulation model output from the The Land Use and Carbon Simulator (LUCAS; Sleeter et al. 2022) run under different climate and land management scenarios.
