The Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere-Wave-Sediment Transport (COAWST Warner and others, 2019; Warner and others, 2010) model was used to simulate three-dimensional hydrodynamics and waves to study salinity intrusion in the Delaware Bay estuary for 2016, 2018, 2021. Salinity intrusion in coastal systems is due in part to extreme events like drought or low-pressure storms and longer-term sea level rise, threatening economic infrastructure and ecological health. We used the Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere-Wave-Sediment Transport (COAWST; Warner and others, 2010) model to simulate ocean circulation, waves, and sediment transport in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, during Hurricane Sandy. The simulation period was from October 27 to November 4, 2012. Initial conditions for the salinity and temperature fields in the domain were acquired from a 7-month simulation of the same domain (Defne and Ganju, 2018). We used a 2012 digital terrain model (Andrews and others, 2015) to prescribe the prestorm bathymetry. The development of Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) growth model within the Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere-Wave-Sediment Transport (COAWST) model leads to a change in SAV biomass. The SAV biomass is computed from temperature, nutrient loading and light predictions obtained from coupled hydrodynamics (temperature), bio-geochemistry (nutrients) and bio-optical (light) models. In exchange, the growth of SAV sequesters or contributes nutrients from the water column and sediment layers. The presence of SAV modulates current and wave attenuation and consequently affects modelled sediment transport. Transport of material in an estuary is important for water quality and hazards concern. We studied these processes in the Hudson River Estuary, located along the northeast coast of the U.S. using the COAWST numerical modeling system. A skill assessment of the COAWST model for the 3-D salinity structure of the estuary has been successfully studied in the past, and the present research extended that understanding to look at both physical and numerical mixing. The model grid extends from the south at the Battery, NY to the north in Troy, NY. The simulation is performed from March 25 to July 11, 2005 (111 days). This project acquired, federated and curated approximately one million new observations to the Avian Knowledge Network. These new observations, in addition to millions of existing records, were used to model the distribution and abundance of 26 species of land birds in the southern portion of the North Pacific Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NPLCC) region including CA, OR and WA. The Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere-Wave-Sediment Transport (COAWST; Warner and others, 2019; Warner and others, 2010) model was used to simulate ocean circulation, waves, and sediment transport in Cape Cod Bay, MA. Larger scale simulations of the US East Coast (Warner and Kalra, 2022) were used to drive numerical grids covering the Gulf of Maine (~1000m resolution) with a two-way nested downscaled region into Cape Cod Bay (~250m resolution). Results were analyzed to investigate bay-scale dynamics of net transport, seafloor elevation changes, and net sediment fluxes. The ETPBR LCC Steering Committee (SC) consisted of 20-30 representatives from state, federal, tribal, and NGO entities. In December 2012, the LCC Steering Committee began drafting a strategic plan to provide a foundation and structure to carry out the mission and vision of the LCC and its partners. The SC met twice a year from 2012 to 2016 in various locations around the Midwest. Staff worked with the committee and project investigators to compile information for a set of descriptive flyers, posters, presentations, and annual updates.

This dataset offers hourly estimates of radar indicated rain gage corrected precipitation at a roughly 4km spatial resolution. Mosaicked into a national product at NCEP, from the regional hourly multi-sensor (radar+gauges) precipitation analyses produced by the 12 River Forecast Centers over CONUS. Some manual QC done at the RFCs. The Stage II/IV job is run at 33min past the top of each hour. Hourly Stage IV is re-made hourly (if there is new input after valid time for the next 23 hours, then again at 1/3/5/7 days after valid time. The Arctic Coastal Plain (ACP) of Alaska is an important region for millions of migrating and nesting shorebirds. However, this region is threatened by climate change and increased human development (e.g., oil and gas production) that have the potential to greatly impact shorebird populations and breeding habitat in the near future. Because historic data on shorebird distributions in the ACP are very coarse and incomplete, we sought to develop detailed, contemporary distribution maps so that the potential impacts of climate-mediated changes and development could be ascertained. The Caribbean Landscape Conservation Cooperative (CLCC) recently completed the CLCC Science Strategy: Mission Alignment to outline shared conservation values among CLCC partner entities. Grassland birds have declined more rapidly than any other group of land birds in North America in the last 50 years with populations of Spragues Pipit, Chestnut-collared and Thick-billed Longspur, and Bairds Sparrow having declined 65-94% during this period. This cross-programmatic collaborative project will expand on a growing network of Motus automated receivers (stations) to provide the first fine-scale quantitative assessment of the migratory period for regional priority grassland songbirds which will inform key knowledge gaps about migration routes and stopover locations. It incorporates data on various human activities from the following data sources: National Landcover Dataset, Energy Infrastructure data from the Ventyx Corporation, National Wetlands Inventory, TIGER 2010 Road Data, active railroads and Dave Theobald's housing density dataset developed from 2010 census data.
