This dataset contains watershed means of estimated percent impervious surfaces for three time periods: 1992, 2002, and 2012. Estimates are based on coefficients derived from comparing land use of the 2012 NAWQA Wall-to-wall Anthropogenic Land-use Trends (NWALT) product to the 2011 National Land Cover Database (NLCD) imperviousness, then applying those coefficients to previous years (1974-2002) of the NWALT dataset.

This part of the data release provides the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center (PCMSC) 2007 bathymetry data collected in Skagit Bay Washington that is provided as a 1-m resolution TIFF image, as well as a 1-m resolution shaded-relief TIFF image. FGDC metadata is also provided. In 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2010 the USGS, PCMSC collected bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data in Skagit Bay, Washington using an interferometric bathymetric sidescan-sonar system mounded to the USGS R/V Parke Snavely and the USGS R/V Karluk. The dataset contains estimates for total phosphorus flux from wastewater treatment plants that discharge to surface water within the Red River of the North Basin in the United States and subbasins. Shapefiles defining the subbasins are available as part of the same data release in which these data are published. Estimates of wastewater treatment plant total phosphorus flux (or load) were calculated by Tammy Ivanhnenko for the years 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is the largest park in the National Park system. It covers more than 13 million acres and is part of the largest protected ecosystem on the planet. This report, written by Lil Gilmore, Biological Technician for the Park/Preserve, and David Goldsmith, an intern from the Chicago Botanic Garden, describes the 2007 Invasive Plant Management Program. David Goldsmith prepared the GIS maps found in Appendix A. The report was reviewed by Whitney Rapp, Exotic Plant Program Manager for Kenai Fjords National Park, and reviewed and edited by Mary Beth Cook, botanist for Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve.

Before the year 2001 there was no comprehensive hydrological dataset for the Yukon River Basin. Between 2000-2005 the USGS conducted the first comprehensive examination of water quality in the Yukon Basin. The YRITWC worked directly with the USGS to streamline the USGS study and protocol, to make a smooth transition to a YRITWC led study, using a Community Participatory Approach, at the end of the 5 year USGS study. In 2006 the ADEC conducted a two week field campaign examining the baseline biogeochemisty of the Tanana River. We developed spatial summary (GIS) layers for a study of factors influencing the distribution of cave and karst associated fauna within the Appalachian Landscape Conservation Cooperative region, one of 22 public-private partnerships established by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to aid in developing landscape scale solutions to conservation problems (https://lccnetwork.org/lcc/appalachian). In 1991, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) began a study of more than 50 major river basins across the Nation as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) project of the National Water-Quality Program. One of the major goals of the NAWQA project is to determine how water-quality conditions change over time. To support that goal, long-term consistent and comparable monitoring has been conducted on streams and rivers throughout the Nation. Outside of the NAWQA project, the USGS also has collected long-term water-quality data to support additional assessments of changing water-quality conditions.
