This layer represents 5-year relative counts of wildlife carcasses collected by Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) maintenance personnel or U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Grizzly Bear Recovery Team personnel on or adjacent to on-system (major) routes from 2008 to 2012. To obtain relative counts, the 5-year total counts per mile, which included all wildlife species observed, were divided by the maximum observed calue (98) to give a relative 0-1 risk score. Total counts, which include all wildlife species observed, along with carnivore counts, which include only black bears, grizzly bears, mountain lions, and wolves, are provided. This project identifies priority areas in the Columbia Plateau Ecoregion to implement conservation strategies for riverine and riparian habitat. This is tailored towards the Arid Lands Initiative (ALI) conservation goals and objectives, and provides the foundation for adaptation to a changing climate. This project adopts a “zoned” approach to identifying focal areas, connectivity management zones and zones for riparian habitat and ecological representation. This is a continuous raster dataset identifying wetlands that are currently suitable for mottled duck brood-rearing activities in the Western Gulf Coast. The identification process is based on key biological parameters such as wetland type, number of years inundated, distance to brood nesting habitat, etc. Additionally, this raster dataset presents the data in a form that prioritizes habitat from more suitable to less suitable based on landscape metrics. The scale ranges from 9.9999 to .000005, higher value designating higher suitability ranking.

Forested Wetland Amphibians This layer is an older version of one of the South Atlantic LCC indicators in the forested wetland ecosystem. It captures Priority Reptile and Amphibian Conservation Areas within forested wetlands. This indicator was updated in Blueprint 2.1 to extend it to new areas of the forested wetland ecosystem map. It is an index of coastal condition capturing water quality, sediment quality, and benthic community condition. This indicator was updated with more current data in Blueprint 2.1. Forested Wetland Extent This layer is an older version of one of the South Atlantic LCC indicators in the forested wetland ecosystem. It captures the overall acres of forested wetlands present in the South Atlantic geography. This indicator was most recently updated in Blueprint 2.2. The updated version uses an improved resampling method and reflects changes in how extent indicators and ecosystem maps are envisioned. For the Green River Basin Landscape Conservation Design (GRB LCD) assessment, we mapped the vulnerability of the critical habitat for threatened and endangered fish species to oil and gas development for each 12-digit hydrologic unit. This data product contains estimates of habitat quality for black bear. The analysis area was a 236,000 square kilometers that encompassed the Navajo Nation, which includes portions of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. For the Green River Basin Landscape Conservation Design (GRB LCD) assessment, we mapped the vulnerability of riparian habitat for terrestrial species and process. Using a vulnerability framework, we defined Sensitivity (S) as the percent riparian vegetation within the valley bottom and Exposure (E) as the amount of human modification within the valley bottom. Our objective was to model specific mean daily flow (mean daily flow divided by drainage area [cubic feet per second per square mile]) on small, ungaged streams in the Upper Colorado River Basin.
