Rural addresses that are assigned by the county are used by 911 system to find you in case of an emergency. If your property doesn’t have an address, or has an incorrect address it can delay the arrival of help during an emergency. ScienceCache was originally developed as a mobile device data collection application for a citizen science project. ScienceCache communicates with a centralized database that facilitates near-real-time use of collected data that enhances efficiency of data collection in the field. We improved ScienceCache by creating a flexible, reliable platform that reduces effort required to set up a survey and manage incoming data. Now, ScienceCache can be easily adapted for citizen science projects as well as restricted to specific users for private internal research. This survey was used in a study on the use of scientific information in public natural resource management planning and decision-making. This survey was intended to help staff at the Southwest Climate Science Center (SWCSC), and others in the research community, gain a more specific understanding of the kinds of decisions made by public natural resource officials and to identify how scientific information, and in particular climate information, is obtained and applied in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) natural resource decision-making processes. Aside from questions and associated information, the survey document contains page logic describing actions taken in a web-based environment.

The evaluation of historical water use in the Upper Rio Grande Basin (URGB), United States and Mexico, using Landsat-derived actual evapotranspiration (ETa) from 1986 to 2015 is presented here as the first study of its kind to apply satellite observations to quantify long-term, basin-wide crop consumptive use in a large basin. The rich archive of Landsat imagery combined with the Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model was used to estimate and map ETa across the basin and over irrigated fields for historical characterization of water-use dynamics. Additional documents pertaining to the Landscape-scale Energy Action Plan (LEAP) Expert Panel meeting held on March 14, 2012 in Lakewood Colorado. This meeting was held to introduce potential panelists to the LEAP project and discuss their role in the development process. Documents include a list of meeting participants; a draft list of Conservation Elements to be included in the Wyoming pilot Landscape-scale Vulnerability Assessment (LVA), some of which will be addressed by Expert Panels; and a list of spatial data sets that have been collected by the Wyoming and R6 offices for possible use in the LVA or related analyses.
The Goshen County GIS (Geographic Information Systems) department is, as a recently created county department, still developing in terms of responsibilities. Primarily the department to date has been tasked with developing a geographic information system encompassing and incorporating available data from all sources as a means to both act as a data repository and more importantly to assist the county with planning and emergency information needs. The GIS department is initially tasked with creating and updating the county’s rural addressing and county road maps as a means to assist county agencies, emergency responders, other governmental entities and the public at large.
Working in partnership since 1996, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Nisqually Indian Tribe have restored 902 acres of tidally influenced coastal marsh in the Nisqually River Delta (NRD), making it the largest estuary-restoration project in the Pacific Northwest to date. Marsh restoration increases the capacity of the estuary to support a diversity of wildlife species. Restoration also increases carbon (C) production of marsh plant communities that support food webs for wildlife and can help mitigate climate change through long-term C storage in marsh soils. Converse County established the GIS Department in 2006. The department is responsible for the development of the County's baseline digital spatial databases and for providing up to date mapping and data services to Converse County's departments, citizens, law enforcement and local government.

The Water Resources Data System is a clearinghouse of hydrological and climatological data for the State of Wyoming. The water quality database can be searched by latitude and longitude, township and range, state and county, or by station number or name. Data are available in CSV file format.
