The Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is a geodatabase that illustrates and describes public land ownership, management and conservation lands nationally, including voluntarily provided privately protected areas. The lands included in PAD-US are assigned conservation measures that qualify their intent to manage lands for the preservation of biological diversity and to other natural, recreational and cultural uses; managed for these purposes through legal or other effective means. BISON is an information system that allows users to access, explore, map and download U.S. species occurrence data from participating data providers. BISON aggregates and provides access to standardized diverse sources of species occurrence data integrated with other non-biological data layers. These data include rock and/or sediment geochemistry from samples collected by IGS geologists and retired geologists. Also present are rock geochemical analyses by retired USGS geologists. IGS/USGS Rock and Sediment Geochemistry Much of this information has been transfered from paper to electronic format, then tied to location data so that it is usable by the people who want the information. A new Geochemical database and web application was developed in 2015 to assist with delivery from the IGS website. Locations may be queried, and analyses downloaded in .csv format, through the Idaho Geological Survey's Geochem web application.

The Gap Analysis Program's (GAP) Species Viewer allows users to explore, download, and create maps of vertebrate species ranges and models developed by GAP. The Viewer displays data on vertebrate species ranges and distribution models for the continental U.S. as well as Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. More specifically, species distribution models based on deductive modeling of habitat associations are displayed across entire species ranges for over 2000 species. Water rights in the State of Kansas are complex and dynamic entities that permit their owners the privilege of appropriating water for beneficial use. The amount of information collected on water rights is extensive and increases each year. The Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources (KDA-DWR), currently maintains an Oracle-based RDBMS called the Water Rights Information System (WRIS). The WRIS contains over 70 relational tables that store data on points of diversion (e.g. ground-water wells and surface water intakes), place of use, authorized quantity and rate allocations, historic reported water usage, and a host of other parameters.
