This data release contains results of model simulations of a plume at Kilauea volcano that occurred on 20 December 2020. The ash-poor plume was produced when lava flowed into a water lake at the summit of Kilauea volcano. Simulations were conducted to constrain the conditions under which the plume rose to its observed height. The analysis and results are described in the accompanying paper: Cahalan RC, Mastin L, Van Eaton A, Hurwitz S, Smith AB, Dufek J, Solovitz SA, Patrick M, Schmith J, Parcheta C, Thelen W, Downs DT (2023 (in press)) Dynamics of the December 2020 ash-poor plume formed by lava-water interaction at the summit of Kīlauea Volcano, Hawaiʻi. RiverWare simulated daily averaged surface water permit requested diversions and diversions modeled in the spatially refined model region within the Red River Basin. Values reported are for 18 different climate projection scenarios and a historical scenario, from 2010 through 2099 and 1976 through 2005, respectively. The RiverWare model was used to determine the impacts on regulated flows, resevoir levels, and water permit reliability. RiverWare was used for this project because of its ability to simulate water use, reservoir operations, and local/interstate regulations.

Basin boundaries were delineated for 1,320 USGS streamgages located on tributaries and streams flowing to the Gulf of Mexico. Basins ranged in size from less than 1 to approximately 67,500 square miles. Physical and climatic basin characteristics were calculated using these boundaries. Data presented here will be used as independent variables to estimate streamflow characteristics and provide a numerical foundation supporting the: (1) development of statistical models of streamflow characteristics; (2) evaluation of spatial and temporal trends in streamflow characteristics; and (3) development of network optimization analysis.

This data release contains one dataset and one model archive in support of the journal article, "Leveraging machine learning to automate regression model evaluations for large multi-site water-quality trend studies," by Jennifer C. Murphy and Jeffrey G. Chanat. The model archive contains scripts (run in R) to reproduce the four machine learning models (logistic regression, linear and quadratic discriminant analysis, and k-nearest neighbors) trained and tested as part of the journal article. The dataset contains the estimated probabilities for each of these models when applied to a training and test dataset.

These data sets are is a compilation of bird and environmental samples obtained from 6 sites in Maricopa County, Arizona on the dates shown. Sites were only visited and sampled if they had Rosy-cheeked lovebirds coming to bird feeders at the location and with the permission of the property owner. Two swab samples were obtained from each captured bird and 3 swab samples were collected from the environment at each site. Each sample was tested by PCR for Chlamydia psittaci, Psittacine Circovirus genotype 1 [PCV-1]), and Psittacine Circovirus genotype 2 (PCV-2) and, for appropriate samples (love birds and environmental samples) and where enough sample material remained for PBFD virus Pathotype 2.

This data release documents statistics for simulating structural stormwater runoff best management practices (BMPs) with the Stochastic Empirical Loading and Dilution Model (SELDM)(Granato, 2013). The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) developed SELDM and the statistics documented in this report in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to indicate the risk for stormwater flows, concentrations, and loads to be above user-selected water-quality goals and the potential effectiveness of mitigation measures to reduce such risks. In SELDM, three treatment variables, hydrograph extension, runoff volume reduction, and water-quality treatment are modeled by using the trapezoidal distribution and the rank...

This data release contains input data used in model development and TIF raster files used to predict the probability of low dissolved oxygen (DO) and high dissolved iron (Fe) in groundwater within the glacial aquifer system in the northern continental United States. Input data include measured DO and Fe concentrations at groundwater wells, and associated predictor variable data. The probability of low DO and high Fe was predicted using boosted regression tree methods using the gbm package in R (v. 4.0.0) in RStudio (v. 1.2.5042). The response variables for individual models were the occurrence of: (1) DO ≤0.5 mg/L, (2) DO ≤2 mg/L, and (3) Fe >100 µg/L. Water-quality data were compiled from three sources, as described...

Low-altitude (80-100 meters above ground level) digital images were obtained from a camera mounted on a 3DR Solo quadcopter, a small unmanned aerial system (UAS), along the Lake Ontario shoreline in New York during July 2017. These data were collected to document and monitor effects of high lake levels, including shoreline erosion, inundation, and property damage in the vicinity of Sodus Bay, New York. This data release includes images tagged with locations determined from the UAS GPS; tables with updated estimates of camera positions and attitudes based on the photogrammetric reconstruction; tables listing locations of the base stations, ground control points, and transect points; geolocated, RGB-colored point...
Fibropapillomatosis (FP) is a tumor disease of marine turtles associated with Chelonid herpesvirus 5 (ChHV5) that has historically been refractory to growth in tissue culture. Here, we show for the first time de novo formation of ChHV5-positive intranuclear inclusions in cultured green turtle cells, which is indicative for active lytic replication of the virus. The minimal requirements to achieve lytic replication in cultured cells included 1) either in-vitro culturing of ChHV5-positive tumor biopsies or organotypic cultures consisting of ChHV5-positive turtle fibroblasts in collagen rafts seeded with ChHV5-negative or -positive turtle keratinocytes and 2) keratinocyte maturation, which occurred naturally in explanted...
