There exists a need to develop a nationally consistent hydrogeologic framework for the continental United States. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Resources Mission Area is supporting an Integratd Water Availability Assessment (IWAA) study to develop a three-dimensional National Extent Hydrogeologic Framework (NEHF) for assessing groundwater occurrence and availability at national and regional scale.
