In August 2017, the U.S. Geological Survey acquired high-resolution P- and S-wave seismic data near six Southern California Seismic Network (SCSN) recording stations in southern California: CI.OLI Olinda; CI.SRN Serrano; CI.MUR Murrieta; CI.LCG La Cienega; CI.RUS Rush; and CI.STC Santa Clara (Figure 1). These strong-motion recording stations are located inside Southern California Edison electrical substations, critical infrastructures that provide essential services to millions of customers. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) developed one-dimensional U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Hydrologic Engineering Center’s River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) hydraulic models for selected stream crossing sites in the Squannacook River Basin, north-central Massachusetts. A Geographic Information System (GIS) was developed to derive model input data from Light Detection and Ranging (lidar) Digital Elevation Models (DEM) at each stream crossing location. Hydraulic models were built for existing culvert designs as well as preliminary culvert designs for a 3-sided box, 3-sided arch, and a pipe culvert using field survey and GIS data. This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over parts of Montana in the vicinity of the Boulder Batholith. The airborne survey was jointly funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative and Kennecott Exploration Company. The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and characterization of mineral resource potential. This data release contains phytoplankton data and vertical profile measurements of water quality and light in oligotrophic (low nutrient) lakes within the Adirondack Park, New York State. Data were collected between June and October 2021 at five lakes. The Landsat-based Irrigation Dataset (LANID) uses a random-forest machine-learning model with greenness and vegetative indices, climate data, and crop masks to identify irrigated crops (Xie and others, 2021, Xie and Lark, 2021). Separate western US and eastern US methods are used to train and validate the model. Annual LANID maps for 2018-20 were created using the same techniques in Xie and others, 2021, and Xie and Lark, 2021.

This data release contains U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) field survey data files for selected stream crossing locations in the Squannacook River Basin, north-central Massachusetts. The surveyed stream cross sections and culvert dimensions were used in developing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Hydrologic Engineering Center’s River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) hydraulic models. The data also include original survey notes, survey sketches, and photographs for each field survey conducted at stream crossing locations. The field survey documented and surveyed five stream cross sections for the upstream approach, upstream culvert face, top of road deck, downstream culvert face, and downstream exit. Results from Generalized Additive models (GAM), Random Forest models (RFM), and Cubist models (CUB) for three Dauphin Island Sealab (DIS) operated salinity sites in Mobile Bay are reported in this data release. These sites included Meaher Park (DIS:MHPA1), Middle Bay Lighthouse (DIS:MBLA1), and Dauphin Island (DIS:DPIA1). The constructed models predicted a 40-year daily salinity record from 1980 to 2021 at each site based on incomplete imputed salinity records and several explanatory variables. This data release provides quantitative whole rock geochemical results from The Geysers vapor-dominated geothermal field in California. The concentrations of major elements are reported in oxide weight percent by wavelength dispersive x-ray fluorescence (WDXRF), the concentrations for sixty elements are reported in elemental weight percent (pct) or parts per million (ppm) from inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry-mass spectrometry ICP-OES-MS analysis, mercury is reported in ppm by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS), and ammonium in ppm from automated colorimetry analysis. This data release provides semiquantitative mineralogy results from X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses of mineral scales from The Geysers vapor-dominated geothermal field in California. The mineral species and their abundances are reported in weight percent and values have been normalized to total 100 percent for each sample. The X-ray diffraction results show that the mineral samples from the wellheads are primarily composed of ammonium (NH4+) sulfate minerals and sassolite B(OH)3, whereas sulfide minerals such as cinnabar and pyrite are the most abundant minerals observed in the power plants.
