These data are estimates of den emergence date, den site departure dates, and duration at den sites as well as post-emergence observations for female polar bears sampled in the southern Beaufort Sea subpopulation 1985-2016 and the Chukchi Sea subpopulation 2008-2017. The data were used to better understand the importance of time spent at the den site post-emergence. Emergence dates and departure dates were determined using collar temperature sensor data.
This dataset includes measures collected on polar bears captured in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas, 1981-2017 by the U.S. Geological Survey and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Data collected include body length, body mass, axillary girth, skull width and tail lengths. Bears were also aged as described in the methods. For some bears, an adipose tissue sample was collected and percent lipid content was measured, percent body fat was measured via bioelectrical impedance analysis, and/or recent feeding behavior was assessed via gut palpitation or blood urea and creatinine levels, all of which are further described in the methods.

This dataset contains observations of the distribution of end-of-summer snow cover on approximately 3000 glaciers across Alaska and Northwest Canada. This dataset consists of one table with sample collection locations and results of screening resident wildlife for Cryptosporidium and Giardia in the Alaskan Arctic, 2012-2017. We analyzed feces collected from polar bear, Pacific walrus, Arctic fox, and caribou with MERIFLUOR direct immunofluorescence assay to determine the presence of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts.
These data are part of the Gulf Watch Alaska (GWA) long-term monitoring program, nearshore monitoring component. The dataset has one comma separated values (.csv) table with estimates of eelgrass (Zostera marina) percent cover. Eelgrass cover was estimated from sonar and video drop cameras deployed from boats following prescribed survey transects.

This dataset contains drainage basin boundaries for 253 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in Alaska that had at least 5 years of daily streamflow through September 30, 2017, three of which were delineated for alternate basin conditions. This compilation includes selected boundaries produced in 2014 (https://doi.org/10.5066/P143KNEJ). Fragment data from 11 nuclear microsatellite loci and sequence data from the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene were gathered from Arctic cod (Boreogadus saida) in the Beaufort and Chukchi seas. Mitogenomic analyses of Arctic cod and three other co-distributed gadoids (Polar cod [Arctogadus glacialis], Saffron cod [Eleginus gracilis], Walleye Pollock [Gadus chalcogrammus]) were also completed. Transcriptomic analyses of Arctic cod were used to identify genes associated with environmental perturbations. Genome-wide scans using RAD-Seq of Arctic cod and the co-distributed Polar Cod were collected.
