National-scale geologic, geophysical, and mineral resource raster and vector data covering the United States, Canada, and Australia are provided in this data release. The data were compiled as part of the tri-national Critical Minerals Mapping Initiative (CMMI). The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a nation of more than thirty low-lying atolls and islands, most of which are inhabited, dispersed across an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) over 770,000 square miles in the tropical central North Pacific Ocean. Monitoring environmental conditions for potential drought risk is challenging in such a dispersed Island nation, and current drought hazard products provide generalities regarding conditions on a broad geographic scale. In August 2017, the U.S. Geological Survey acquired high-resolution P- and S-wave seismic data near six Southern California Seismic Network (SCSN) recording stations in southern California: CI.OLI Olinda; CI.SRN Serrano; CI.MUR Murrieta; CI.LCG La Cienega; CI.RUS Rush; and CI.STC Santa Clara (Figure 1). This database contains the United States salient statistics and world production statistics for over 88 nonfuel mineral commodities. Salient statistics for the United States includes items such as production, imports, exports, price, stocks, apparent consumption, and/or net import reliance for nonfuel mineral commodities. The database contains separate table files (entities) in CSV format. There are metadata files associated with these CSV files that describe the data.

Jointly managed by multiple states and the federal government, there are many ongoing efforts to characterize and understand water quality in the Delaware River Basin (DRB). Many State, Federal and non-profit organizations have collected surface-water-quality samples across the DRB for decades and many of these data are available through the National Water Quality Monitoring Council's Water Quality Portal (WQP). The agro-hydrologic VegET (VegetationEvapotranspiration) model uses a water balance approach to simulate daily soil moisture (SM), actual evapotranspiration (ETa), and runoff (R). We enhanced the model to include snow accumulation and melt processes along with the separation of runoff into surface runoff and deep drainage and implemented the code using cloud technology. This publication is providing the supporting data for the updated methods and provides evaluation results for the United States and the Greater Horn of Africa.
The Russian River Watershed (RRW) covers about 1300 square miles (without Santa Rosa Plain) of urban, agricultural, and forested lands in northern Sonoma County and southern Mendocino County, California. Communities in the RRW depend on a combination of Russian River water and groundwater to meet their water-supply demands. Water is used primarily for agricultural irrigation, municipal and private wells supply, and commercial uses - such as for wineries and recreation. Information on the spatio-temporal distribution of rainfall is very critical for addressing water related disasters, especially in the arid to semi-arid regions of the Middle East and North Africa region. However, availability of reliable rainfall datasets for the region is limited. In this study we combined observation from satellite-based rainfall data, in situ rain gauge observation and rainfall climatology to create a reliable regional rainfall dataset for Jordan, West Bank and Lebanon. In cooperation with state and county agencies, including the Chester County Water Resources Authority (CCWRA), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has collected discrete stream samples for analysis of chloride concentrations at three real-time streamflow and water-quality monitoring (specific conductance) stations located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Data were collected from 2010-2023 at these stations for the application of predicting chloride concentrations using real-time continuous specific conductance and streamflow data. An ASD FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res NG Spectroradiometer was used to collect the reflectance properties of soil and rock in southcentral Alaska, USA (Figure 1) around the city of Anchorage (Figure 2) and the Prince William Sound (Figure 3). Reflectance is a property of the material being observed, being the ratio of the amount of light leaving a target to the amount of light striking the target. Reflectance is a unitless value from 0 to 1, where a value of 0 indicates that the material absorbs all energy and 1 indicates total reflectance. This data release documents neotectonic mapping of fault-related features on high-resolution lidar-derived topography, data documenting an exposure of the South Lajas fault, and summary information for active and potentially active Quaternary faults on the island of Puerto Rico. The data documenting the exposure of the South Lajas fault include detailed unit descriptions, radiocarbon sample descriptions, data, and results, and a structure-from-motion-derived orthophoto mosaic of the exposure.
