This Data Release contains geospatially-enabled geological data to accompany the Geologic Map of the Central Beaverhead Mountains, Lemhi County, Idaho, and Beaverhead County, Montana: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Map 3413. This map portrays detailed geology of the central Beaverhead Mountains, printable at 1:50,000 scale. These data were collected between 1997 and 2017, and synthesized to provide significant new stratigraphic and structural data and interpretations. Generalized basin geology compiled from sources on both sides of the range is combined with newly mapped bedrock geology to better integrate geologic development of the map area. These data are shared to meet open data requirements...

This dataset contains an inventory of landslides in many of the most landslide-prone parts of Minnesota. This project was created to improve our understanding of the landslide hazard in Minnesota and to provide a nearly statewide base map of landslide data. The mapping was performed by geologists from the U.S. Geological Survey, the Freshwater Society, and several academic institutions where undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty performed mapping. Contributing academic institution include the University of Minnesota Duluth, the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Gustavus Adolphus College, Winona State University, Minnesota State University, Mankato, St. Thomas...

The GeoTiff raster data were created from subtraction of elevation values collected in 2012 from elevation values collected in 2011. Both data collections were conducted by airborne lidar surveys contracted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. These survey occured before and after a historical rain event that cause widespread landscape change. The shapefiles are polygon objects that illustrate where erosion and deposition occurred on slopes and in valleys in the June 2012 rain event in the Duluth, MN region

Drainage basin areas for 376 USGS streamgages in West Virginia and adjacent states were delineated digitally. The USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset HUC12 sub-watershed lines were used as outer limits of basins, and heads-up digitizing was used to delineate boundaries from the stream gage to the HUC12 boundary. The USGS National Map was used, as background, to show both contour lines and digital elevation to highlight drainage basin divides, ridges, and valleys. Basins were delineated for (1) all active continuous-flow and crest-stage streamgages, in West Virginia, through water year 2020, (2) selected inactive streamgages, in West Virginia and adjacent states, that were used in the flood-frequency report prepared...

From July 14-20, 2016, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the City of Ithaca, New York, conducted a bathymetric survey of the Cayuga Inlet flood-control channel and selected mouths of tributaries to Cayuga Inlet and Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, New York. U.S. Geological Survey personnel collected bathymetric data using an acoustic Doppler current profiler. The survey plan generated over 25,000 water depths that were converted to bottom elevations by subtracting the depths from the water-surface elevations recorded by the USGS streamgage, Cayuga Inlet (Cayuga Lake) at Ithaca, N.Y. (station number 04233500), which was located within the surveyed reach. (Information on and data from this streamgage can be found...
