Radioactive mineral deposit locations were compiled on maps and lists, as well as production data/deposit summaries, in the CGS report: Nelson-Moore, J.L., Collins, D.B., and Hornbaker, A.L., 1978, Radioactive Mineral Occurrences of Colorado, Colorado Geological Survey Bulletin 40, 1,054 p. This comprehensive report contains 12 map plates that record the location of radioactive minerals, including past mined deposits, throughout Colorado. Also, the report contains compilations of production (if available), deposit type, mineral, and other data associated with each location. Most of the records are associated with uranium/vanadium deposits but also include deposits containing REEs and other minerals.

This collection contains scanned brine analyses records collected with Kentucky oil and gas well drilling activity.
Maps are an essential tool for conveying information about natural resources, geologic hazards, and geologic history. One important role of the New Mexico Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources (NMBGMR) is in the production and distribution of geologic and other types of maps. Many of our staff are involved in map production through our STATEMAP program and our Cartography/GIS group is responsible for producing the finished products.

Continuous bedrock core from about 50 sites across CT. Stored in 1100 boxes. This collection has been rescued three times since its formation in the late 1980's. Formerly administrative responsibility was shared between the University of Connecticut Dept. of Geology and Geophysics (now disbanded) and the Dept. of Environmental Protection, Geological and Natural History Survey. The State Survey now houses the collection and is the sole administrator.

Map Package format. Structure point data set containing locations and structure type, with strike and dip (planar features) and trend and plunge (linear features). The symbology is derived from ESRI Representations associated with the SymbolFGDCLookup table in the geodatabase. Most trends and dips are based on field measurements using Brunton or similar compass. A sun compass was employed in areas of strong magnetic signature, such as iron-formation. Contains bedrock structural measurements acquired by the multiple field geologists over 40+ years. Collected from bedrock exposures and from data transcribed from published and unpublished analog (non-digital) maps. To access the full data set, download using the link...

This information contains a collection of Borehole Maps and Logs for the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 78, and Proposed Rt. 101 during the pre-construction engineering work.
The Kansas Geological Survey maintains a library of 332,000 wireline logs. Also included in the collection are drilling time and sample logs. Most are stored as paper logs; new logs are being submitted electronically. 222,000 logs have been scanned into TIF format image files. A separate collection of LAS files is also available.
Well logs converted from scanned paper PDF to .las and tabular datasets via digitization software. 366 digital logs spanning sites of geothermal interest in northern Nevada: Hot Spring Mountains, Hot Sulphur Springs, San Emidio Desert, Rye Patch/Colado, Grass Valley, and Bog Hot Valley.
Connecticut Bedrock Mining Sites Database (2022) is a comprehensive inventory of active and historic bedrock mine and quarry sites in Connecticut. Developed in 2020-2022 by the Connecticut Geological Survey. Contributors: Harold Moritz, Randolph Steinen, Taryn Isenburg, Zachary Klang, Rebekah Kennedy, David Vohra, Madison Rosen, Margaret Thomas, Madison Knox, Charles Kaiser. Supersedes all previously published bedrock mines maps. Point features include site locations, commodity data, activity status, host rock, references, validation methods, reconciliation of duplicate sites and other information. Area features identify disturbed land and tailings piles resulting from mining activities. The geodatabase is a synthesis...

Open File Report 2022-5, Precambrian Basement Map of Wyoming: Structural Configuration, is a statewide map contoured using a 1,000-foot interval. Compiled at the scale of 1:500,000, the map is available for print, can be downloaded as a digital database, or can be viewed through the agency’s Interactive Oil and Gas Map of Wyoming. A brief report accompanies the map and details the study’s methods and results. "Basement" refers to very old crystalline rocks that comprise the core of most mountain ranges and define the structure of the adjacent basins. In Wyoming, basement rocks are Precambrian-age (more than 541 million years old) igneous and metamorphic rocks. Within the basins, and above the Precambrian basement,...

This dataset is an inventory of orphaned mineral mine sites as well as closeout permitted mineral mine sites. Orphaned mineral mine sites are those that were never permitted in the state of Virginia. In 1978, the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA) required operatrors to obtain a permit to operate a mineral mine site in Virginia. Mineral mines are considered any mine that is non-coal. Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE), through its Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Reclamation Program, addresses the hazards and environmental degradation posed by these legacy coal mine sites.
Index of unpublished, archival resources, that may aid researchers in locating critical mineral deposits in Wisconsin. The approximately 2500 items in this collection are from eight major and two smaller collections. The item title contains the focus area to which the item pertains. The resources listed are stored at the WGNHS office in Madison, Wisconsin, and though much of this collection is still on paper only, any items will be made available to researchers upon request.

The Arkansas Geological Survey (AGS) is the curator for the Norman F. Williams Well Sample Library and maintains well cuttings and core samples as a permanent record of rock strata that have been penetrated by wells drilled in Arkansas. Driller logs housed at the Survey contain the down hole information about the geology in the state. Each log gives the depth in feet along with the discription of material being drilled and the depth it accurs. The logs cover wells drilled in the early 1900’s to 1950’s and dispersed throughout the state giving statewide subsurface information.

This collection includes field notes, interpretive geologic field maps, field station location maps, and other project materials, many of which are unpublished and archived by the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys. These materials have not been reviewed for accuracy, consistency, or completeness. The collection may contain data and documents pertaining to all related fields of geology, including oil and gas, geologic engineering, minerals industry, scientific data, and agency archives.
Dataset contains digital versions of physical core logs housed in Missouri Geological Survey archives. The logs are variable in detail, ranging from simple locations and formation tops to extensive stratigraphic descriptions and chemistry. A portion were done by MGS staff; others were donated by industry, academia, and government entities. The dataset includes logs for mines or undeveloped deposits with occurrences of or potential for critical minerals, along with logs in areas with permissive geology. The dataset comprises three tables: header and location information; formation/stratigraphic top, bottom and written description; and geochemical and assay data.
These data currently not suitable for use and are for development purposes only.
Boxes and maps of uranium exploration data were donated to the CGS several years ago referred to as the “Tallahassee Creek data.” This exploration data set focuses on the Hansen/Taylor, Picnic Tree, and High Park uranium deposits in the Tallahassee Creek mining area. These uranium deposits, a critical mineral as defined by Fortier and others (2018), occur in the Eocene Echo Park Alluvium and Oligocene Tallahassee Creek Conglomerate. Between 1957 and 1972, 95,400 tons of ore averaging 0.25% triuranium octoxide (U3O8) were mined in this area mostly from the Tallahassee Creek Conglomerate (Chenoweth, 1980). Exploration companies report Hansen/Taylor deposit resources of 29,730,000 tons grading at 0.063% U3O8 containing...
