Collection includes county, PLSS, Latitude, Longitude, operator, well number, sample type, formation, footages from and to, comments, author that cited the sample, and whether the well information has been scanned.
This collection was donated by the family of a deceased Pure Oil Company consultant. These scout tickets show data from about 11,000 wells drilled in Michigan from the 1920s-1950s. Data includes well elevation, total depth, cores taken, lithology/formation descriptions, footages for pays, and some production data. Many of these wells are also represented by cuttings donated to MGS from another Michigan university.

Collection includes rock cuttings (drill cuttings) from Michigan oil, gas, mineral and water wells collected by the Michigan Geological Survey and archived at the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education, Geological and Environmental Sciences, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Michigan. Cuttings representative of 13,440 Michigan oil, gas and mineral wells, archived in individual envelopes and/or vials in cardboard boxes.
This data includes permit number, API, well type, county, PLSS, lat/long, company name, lease name and number, total depth, completion date, plugging date, comments, whether there are logs, LAS or digital files, sample type, elevation and elevation source, depth to top of precambrian and Mount Simon formations.
