The southeastern U.S. contains highly diverse ecosystems that are increasingly threatened by human-induced environmental changes and that require increasingly intensive management to avoid negative impacts on native biota. Climate change is one aspect of landscape alteration that is particularly challenging to conservation planners and managers.
