A high-resolution (10-meter per pixel) digital elevation model (DEM) was created for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta using both bathymetry and topography data relative to current modern datum of North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). This DEM is the result of collaborative efforts of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). The base of the DEM is from a 10-m DEM released in 2004 and updated in 2005 (Foxgrover and others, 2005) that used Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), ArcGIS Topo to Raster module to interpolate grids from single beam bathymetric surveys collected by DWR, the Army Corp of Engineers (COE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric...

This portion of the USGS data release presents topography data collected during surveys performed on the Elwha River delta, Washington, in May 2012 (USGS Field Activity Number W-03-12-PS). Topography data were collected on foot with global navigation satellite system (GNSS) equipment mounted on backpacks operating primarily in Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) mode. A total of 4 GNSS backpacks, each equipped with a dual-frequency GNSS receiver and handheld data collector, were used during the survey. Differential corrections were transmitted at 1-Hz intervals by a VHF radio to the backpack GNSS receivers from a GNSS base station placed on a benchmark with known horizontal and vertical coordinates relative to the North American...

This dataset is a polygon shapefile containing reservoir boundary of Lago Guayabal, and represents the contour at the spillway elevation. This polygon was used to constraint the extent of the Triangulated irregular network (TIN) model and ultimately, to generate contours from bathymetric data collected during a sedimentation survey conducted during the period December 11- December 14, 2017 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. Field techniques used during the survey were similar to those...

This dataset represents the survey footprint of the beach topography and near-shore bathymetry of Lake Superior at the Duluth Entry, Duluth, Minnesota. The survey area extends approximately 0.85 kilometers (0.5 miles) offshore, for an approximately 1.87 square kilometer surveyed area. Lidar and multibeam data were collected July 28-29, 2020.

A bathymetric survey of Dierks Lake, Arkansas, was conducted in late June - early July 2018 by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Surveys using methodologies for sonar surveys similar to those described by Wilson and Richards (2006) and Richards and Huizinga (2018). Data from the bathymetric survey were combined with data from an aerial Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) survey conducted in 2016 by the National Resources Conservation Service (U.S. Geological Survey, 2017) to create a digital elevation model (DEM) of the extent of the flood pool of the lake and compute volume (storage capacity) of the lake at 1-foot increments in water surface elevation from 444-557 feet (ft)...

This portion of the USGS data release presents topography data collected during surveys performed along northern Monterey Bay, California, in October 2014 (USGS Field Activity Number 2014-676-FA). Topographic profiles were collected on foot with GNSS receivers mounted on backpacks. Prior to data collection, vertical distances between the GNSS antennas and the ground were measured using a tape measure. Hand-held data collectors were used to log raw data and display navigational information allowing surveyors to navigate survey lines spaced at 50- to 250-m intervals along the beach. Profiles were surveyed from the landward edge of the study area (either the base of a bluff, engineering structure, or just landward...

This portion of the USGS data release presents bathymetry data collected during surveys performed in northern Monterey Bay, California in September 2017 (USGS Field Activity Number 2017-678-FA). Bathymetry data were collected using two personal watercraft (PWCs) equipped with single-beam sonar systems and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. The sonar systems consisted of an Odom Echotrac CV-100 single-beam echosounder and 200 kHz transducer with a 9° beam angle. Raw acoustic backscatter returns were digitized by the echosounder with a vertical resolution of 1.25 cm. Depths from the echosounders were computed using sound velocity profiles measured using a YSI CastAway CTD during the survey. Positioning...

This portion of the USGS data release presents topography data collected during surveys performed on the Elwha River delta, Washington, in September 2014 (USGS Field Activity Number 2014-649-FA). Topography data were collected on foot with global navigation satellite system (GNSS) equipment mounted on backpacks operating primarily in Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) mode. A total of 5 GNSS backpacks, each equipped with a dual-frequency GNSS receiver and handheld data collector, were used during the survey. Differential corrections were transmitted at 1-Hz intervals by a VHF radio to the backpack GNSS receivers from a GNSS base station placed on a benchmark with known horizontal and vertical coordinates relative to the...

The dataset is a digital elevation model (DEM), in GeoTiff format, of the bathymetric surface of Blue Mountain Lake, Arkansas, within the extent of pool elevation 420 feet (ft) above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). The DEM was derived from a terrain dataset created by merging bare earth point data from an aerial LiDAR survey conducted in December 2010 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Little Rock District, with point data from a bathymetric survey conducted in May 2017 by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) using methodology similar to that described by Wilson and Richards (2006).

On October 5-6, 2022, a combination of Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) surveying were used to collect bathymetric data of the Lummi Sea Pond near Bellingham, WA. Distributed XYZ points were interpolated to create a continuous bathymetric map of the sea pond. The final product is two-meter raster in NAD88 (2011) UTM 10N coordinates, with elevations referenced to NAVD88 (GEOID18a). Details of the process used to construct the surface are provided in the raster file metadata. Supporting datasets included in the zip file include raw ADCP data, ADCP bathymetry data in CSV format, and GNSS data in CSV format.

Bathymetry data were collected using personal watercraft (PWCs) equipped with single-beam sonar systems and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. The final point data from the PWCs are provided in a comma-separated text file and are projected in cartesian coordinates using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 10 North, meters coordinate system.

RGB-averaged ortho products were created from aerial imagery collected between September 8 and 13, 2019, along the North Carolina coast between the Virginia-North Carolina border vicinity and Cape Lookout, North Carolina. These RBG-averaged orthoimages were created to document ground conditions after Hurricane Dorian, which made landfall on the North Carolina coast on September 6, 2019. The RBG-averaged orthoimages help researchers estimate the land surface after Hurricane Dorian and were created to document inter-annual changes in shoreline position and coastal morphology in response to storm events using aerial imagery collections and a structure from motion (SFM) workflow. These data can be used with geographic...

This data release contains GIS data generated by USGS for use in a BOEM-funded project to compare natural rockfish nursery habitat to habitat created by manmade structures in the eastern Santa Barbara Channel. The contours were created from published data and digital elevation models (DEMs) of Carignan and others (2009) and Dartnell and others (2012). Contours were generated using the ESRI Contour tool in spatial analysit. The contour interval is 10 meters. The contours were clipped to exclude areas outside the BOEM rockfish nurseries study area.
