This portion of the USGS data release presents bathymetry data collected during surveys performed on the Elwha River delta, Washington in July 2016 (USGS Field Activity Number 2016-658-FA). Bathymetry data were collected using two personal watercraft (PWCs) and a kayak, all equipped with single-beam sonar systems and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. The PWC sonar systems consisted of an Odom Echotrac CV-100 single-beam echosounder and 200 kHz transducer with a 9° beam angle. Raw acoustic backscatter returns were digitized by the echosounder with a vertical resolution of 1.25 cm. Depths from the echosounders were computed using sound velocity profiles measured using a YSI CastAway CTD during the...

The dataset is a digital elevation model (DEM), in GeoTiff format, of the bathymetry of Dierks Lake, Howard and Sevier Counties, Arkansas. The extent of the DEM represents the area encompassing the extent of the aerial Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) data used in the project. Horizontal and vertical units are expressed in meters. The DEM was derived from an LAS dataset (an industry-standard binary format for storing aerial LiDAR data) created from point datasets stored in “Dierks2018_gdb”. The point datasets include aerial LiDAR data from a survey conducted in 2016 by the National Resources Conservation Service (U.S. Geological Survey, 2017), point data from digitized historical topographic maps, and bathymetric...

This data release contains spatial data associated with the sedimentation survey of Lago Guayabal conducted during the period December 11- December 14, 2017 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center (CFWSC) of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. Field data collection involved measuring water depth along predetermined navigation lines. More than 270,000 water-depth points were surveyed along 60 navigation lines and All water-depth data were collected using a Teledyne-Odom Echotrac CVM depth sounder coupled to a Global Positioning...

This portion of the USGS data release presents topography data collected during surveys performed in the Columbia River littoral cell, Washington and Oregon, in 2014 (USGS Field Activity Number 2014-631-FA). Topographic profiles were collected by walking along survey lines with global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers mounted on backpacks. Prior to data collection, vertical distances between the GNSS antennas and the ground were measured using a tape measure. Hand-held data collectors were used to log raw data and display navigational information allowing surveyors to navigate survey lines spaced at 100- to 1,000-m intervals along the beach. Profiles were surveyed from the landward edge of the study area...

This dataset is a LAS (industry-standard binary format for storing large point clouds) dataset containing light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data representing beach topography of Lake Superior at Minnesota Point, Duluth, Minnesota. Average point spacing of the LiDAR points in the dataset is 0.137 meters (m; 0.45 feet [ft]). The LAS dataset was used to create a 1-m (3.28084 ft) digital elevation model (DEM) of the approximately 4 kilometer (2.5 mile) surveyed reach of the beach. LiDAR data were collected August 10, 2019 using a boat-mounted Optech ILRIS scanner and methodology similar to that described by Huizinga and Wagner (2019). A high-resolution (10-meter per pixel) digital elevation model (DEM) was created for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta using both bathymetry and topography data relative to current modern datum of North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). This DEM is the result of collaborative efforts of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). The base of the DEM is from a 10-m DEM released in 2004 and updated in 2005 (Foxgrover and others, 2005) that used Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), ArcGIS Topo to Raster module to interpolate grids from single beam bathymetric surveys collected by DWR, the Army Corp of Engineers (COE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric...
