This dataset contains watershed means of estimated percent impervious surfaces for three time periods: 1992, 2002, and 2012. Estimates are based on coefficients derived from comparing land use of the 2012 NAWQA Wall-to-wall Anthropogenic Land-use Trends (NWALT) product to the 2011 National Land Cover Database (NLCD) imperviousness, then applying those coefficients to previous years (1974-2002) of the NWALT dataset.

This metadata record documents 11 comma delimited tables representing the amount of reported best management practice (BMP) implementation for the years from 1985 to 2014 at three geographic scales: county or land-river modeling segment, River Input Monitoring (RIM) station drainage areas, and the entire Chesapeake Bay Watershed (CBWS). Data originated from the Chesapeake Bay Watershed jurisdictions including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, New York, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Data were reported to the Chesapeake Bay Program for an annual review of progress toward meeting nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment reduction goals.
These data describe the status of eggs in nests which had a foster egg added to them as part of an effort to relocate a common tern colony on Poplar Island. One data file (McGowanEtAl2018_FosterNestData_Data.csv) contains the data regarding the observations, while one definitions file (McGowanEtAl2018_FosterNestData_Definitions.csv) details the data.
These data support a paired USGS publication and document the use of retention ponds on commercial poultry farms by wild waterfowl.

Geologic structure and isopach maps were constructed by interpreting over 19,890 trackline kilometers of co-located multichannel boomer, sparker and chirp seismic reflection profiles from the continental shelf of the Delmarva Peninsula, including Maryland and Virginia state waters. U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists completed a stream surveying campaign from the 26th of July to the 13th of August in 2021 at thirty 100m reaches within the Shenandoah Valley throughout Virginia and West Virginia. The goal was to collect three cross sections, water surface elevation at the top and bottom of each reach, and thalweg point data at each study location to use the geomorphological surveys alongside habitat information. Together, these two sources of data can be used to create a habitat assessment of Shenandoah Valley streams. These data represent input and estimates from a medium-resolution (1:100,000 scale) NHDPlus SPAtially Referenced Regression on Watershed attributes (SPARROW) model for the Chesapeake Bay watershed (CBSS_v2). The model spatially correlates long-term mean annual suspended-sediment flux in 113 non-tidal streams to likely upland and stream-corridor sources, landscape factors affecting upland sediment transport and delivery to stream corridors, and fluvial and reservoir retention representing the early 2000 time period. The item COMID is a common related field between the data file and the spatial component (catchments) in NHDPlus version 1.0.

This metadata record documents 3 sets of comma delimited tables representing the amount of reported best management practice (BMP) implementation within the Chesapeake Bay watershed as well as output data from scenarios of the Chesapeake Bay Program Phase 5.3.2 Watershed Model. The scenario data were used to estimate the effects of BMPs on water quality. The data are organized by three themes (child items below); 1) BMP implementation and definitions, 2) isolation scenarios, and 3) "Progress" and "No Action" scenarios.
These tabular data are summaries of land use/land cover related variables within catchments of the Chesapeake Bay watershed using the Xstrm methodology at 1:24,000 scale. Variables being counted as land use/land cover related contain all land use and land cover data including datasets that are split off or combined from those data (eg. agriculture or impervious classes only datasets). As part of a larger study examining stream conditions and the effect of Best Management Practices in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, thirty small streams on the Delmarva Peninsula were instrumented and monitored for gage height (water level), water temperature, and air temperature using Onset HOBO sensors from March to September 2022. In addition, two discrete discharge measurements were made at baseflow at each site.
