The dataset presented here represents a circa 2010 land/water delineation of coastal Louisiana used in part of a larger study to quantify landscape changes from 1932 to 2016. The dataset contains two categories, land and water. For the purposes of this effort, land includes areas characterized by emergent vegetation, upland, wetland forest, or scrub-shrub were classified as land, while open water, aquatic beds, and mudflats were classified as water. The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting coastal wetlands loss. This dataset includes annual encrusting organism (oyster, mussel, barnacle) counts and density (ind m-2), and oyster shell height (mm) data for five bio-engineered reef designs: OysterbreakTM (OB), Wave Attenuating Device® (WAD), Reef Ball™ (rows of two, RFB2; rows of three, RFB3), ReefBLK℠ (RBL), and ShoreJAX™ (JAX). Data were collected during winter months (i.e., December-January) in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in low water when reefs were partially exposed.
