The maturation contours show vitrinite reflectance trends and ranges for petroleum system horizons within the Southwestern Wyoming Province. The horizons are the base of the Niobrara Formation, the top of the Frontier Formation, the base of the Mesaverde Formation, the top of the Mesaverde Formation/base of the Lewis Formation, and the top of the Lewis Formation. The ranges of vitrinite reflectance shown for the Niobrara horizons are 0.6, 0.8-1.3, and 1.3. This data release is a compilation of vitrinite reflectance (Ro) data from the Southwestern Wyoming Province in Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. The data includes about 1,200 Ro measurements from wells drilled for oil and gas exploration and production, coal test holes, and outcrop sections.

As part of the periodic update of the geothermal energy assessments for the USA (e.g., last update by Williams and others, 2008), a new three-dimensional temperature map has been constructed for the Great Basin, USA. Williams and DeAngelo (2011) identified uncertainty in estimates of conductive heat flow near land surface as the largest contributor to uncertainty in previously published temperature maps. The new temperature maps incorporate new conductive heat flow estimates developed by DeAngelo and others (2023). This file contains 18 gross isopach grids that represent true vertical thickness (TVT) values by calculating the difference between 19 stratigraphically adjacent horizons picked on borehole geophysical logs in the Southwestern Wyoming Province. In wells where adjacent horizons are missing, no TVT value is calculated. The TVT values are a measure of vertical thickness and do not account for the structural dip of units encountered in the wellbore. The decline of the iconic monarch butterfly in North America has motivated research on the impacts of land use and land cover (LULC) change and climate variability on monarch habitat and population dynamics. We investigated spring and fall trends in LULC, milkweed and nectar resources over a 20-year period, and ~30 years of climate variables in Mexico and Texas, a key region supporting spring and fall migration during monarchs annual life cycle. We estimated a 2.9% decline in milkweed in Texas, but little to no change in Mexico. Fall and spring nectar resources declined <1% in both countries. These data were compiled to predict hourly Glen Canyon Dam operations and hydropower impacts. The objective of our study was to estimate hydropower impacts under different future LTEMP sEIS alternatives. These data represent hourly outflow in cubic feet per second, generation in megawatt hours, and economic value of hydropower in nominal dollars. These data were created for operations at Glen Canyon Dam for October 2023 through November 2027. These data were created by the U.S. Geological Survey, Southwest Biological Science Center, Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Cetner using mathematical modeling methods.

Problem Previous hydrologic studies have indicated that there may be sufficient water resources underlying Queens, Kings, Richmond, New York, and Bronx Counties for use as a supplemental water supply in times of drought or other emergency. An extensive ground-water and surface-water monitoring program is necessary to provide a comprehensive hydrologic data set for use in ongoing and future ground-water investigations. This data release contains zircon U-Pb (n=1467) and Hf (n=332) data for five modern rivers (Connecticut, Susquehanna, Roanoke, Peedee, and Chattahoochee) draining the Appalachian mountain belt. The data show that zircon crystallization ages are characterized by several discrete populations that often correspond with orogenic episodes in the Mesoproterozoic and Paleozoic, with distinct differences between the various rivers sampled. ɛHf values are more consistent geographically, but differ between the Grenville and Paleozoic (Taconic, Acadian, and Alleghenian) orogenies.
