This metadata describes water point data for the Oregon Framework Hydrography data and the standard system used to identify the state's surface water. The Water Points (WP) layer is the repository for springs, seeps and other hydrographic features with limited spatial extent (i.e. most easily represented by a point).
The table provides all fish collected using two different electrofishing methods at Illinois River sites in 2012 and 2013. Length and weights were taken on most species and gender was taken from Silver Carp. Fishes were categorized whether they were netters (caught by nets) or jumpers (jumped in the boat while sampling) and only netters were used in analyses. Large numbers of shad were collected in 2013 and an additional spreadsheet includes abundance data in an aggregated form for those sites. The data is not sensitive/classified and there are no legal restrictions on who may obtain or use the data.

We collected diets on Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii bouvieri) and brown trout (Salmo trutta) above (Yellowstone cutthroat trout allopatry) and below (Yellowstone cutthroat trout sympatry with brown trout) a natural barrier in Duck Creek, Montana. We used gastric lavage methods to collect diets, and samples were placed in storage containers and taken back to our lab and frozen until sorting. All samples were sorted by Rhithron, Inc. (Missoula, MT) with individuals identified down to the order.
Inland fishes provide important ecosystem services to communities worldwide and are especially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Amount of fish and shellfish caught using bottom trawling and dredging (1955-2004), by marine ecoregion. The map shows trawling and dredging fishing pressure by marine ecoregion between 1955 and 2004, using fish and shellfish catch data from the University of British Columbia (SAUP 2007). Our analysis of the catch data was limited to species caught by bottom trawl or dredge gear (Watson et al. 2006a). We calculated the annual total tonnage of catch for all species caught by these gears in each ecoregion. To evaluate the ability of precipitation-based environmental DNA (eDNA) sample collection and mitochondrial 12S metabarcoding sequencing to reconstruct well-studied fish communities in lakes and rivers. Climate change is predicted to alter sport fish communities in Midwestern lakes, according to a new study that related water temperature to suitability for walleye and largemouth bass in more than 2,100 Wisconsin lakes.
Great Lakes fishery managers and stakeholders have little information regarding how climate change could affect the management of recreationally and commercially important fisheries, which have been valued at more than $7 billion annually.
