Solar Energy Zones (SEZ) & BLM Variance Areas, as defined by the Solar Energy Development Programmatic EIS (PEIS). These data were downloaded from the Solar Energy Development PEIS Website on 11/25/2013 and clipped to the DRECP study area. Source: http://solareis.anl.gov/documents/dpeis/maps/shape/Draft_Solar_PEIS_Core_Shapefile_data.zipSummary of included datasets:1) Solar Energy Zone (SEZ)This dataset approximates areas available for utility-grade solar energy development under the Solar Energy Zone Alternative of the Solar Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS). Refer to the Solar Energy Development PEIS for more details.2) BLM Variance AreasTo accommodate the flexibility described...

The original CoverType Dataset was clipped by the four Ranger Districts of interest:Â Thorne Bay, Craig, Wrangell, and Petersburg.Below is the information from the original dataset:CoverType is a photo-interpreted delineation of the Tongass National Forest by land type and timber cover type. Classification of lands was done sequentially: 1) land and water identified; 2) forested and non-forested areas were identified; 3) forested areas were classified by forest type and forest productivity; and 4) productive forest lands were further characterized by volume class, tree size, species composition. The original classifications were based on photo-interpretation of 1:15840 aerial photographs in 1978. The minimum map...

Recreation Facilities on Forest Service lands. These include forest-oriented recreational facilities such as campgrounds, picnic areas, trailheads, and Forest Service offices, lookouts, roadside parks, and winter recreation areas. The FSTopo database was originally populated with Cartographic Feature File (CFF) data. CFF data were derived from the standard Forest Service Primary Base Series (PBS) or Single Edition Series (SES) map as part of the Forest Service National Geographic Information System Plan. PBS and SES maps were developed from the U.S. Geological Survey 1:24,000-scale, 7.5-minute topographic map series, with enhancements and regular revisions to satisfy Forest Service needs. Except in Alaska, where...

This "Surface Management Agency" data layer portrays tracts of federal land for the United States and classifies these holdings by administrative agency. Multiple federal agencies have contributed to the contents of this layer and it is in a continuous state of update. Source and date of feature updates are tracked to the feature level.

The USGS Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is the nation's inventory of protected areas, including public open space and voluntarily provided, private protected areas, identified as an A-16 National Geospatial Data Asset in the Cadastral Theme (http://www.fgdc.gov/ngda-reports/NGDA_Datasets.html). PAD-US is an ongoing project with several published versions of a spatial database of areas dedicated to the preservation of biological diversity, and other natural, recreational or cultural uses, managed for these purposes through legal or other effective means. The geodatabase maps and describes public open space and other protected areas. Most areas are public lands owned in fee; however, long-term...

These data display national forest and ranger district boundaries for Region 1, 2 and 4. Note that many private and state-owned parcels lie within the national forest boundaries depicted in these data. Note that these data do not conform entirely with official national forest boundaries: (1) the boundaries included here have been expanded to encompass national forest system lands that lie outside of the official forest boundary and (2) many small and discrete polygons that have no national forest ownership but were (and are) included in the officially designated forest boundary are not included in these data. To obtain actual boundaries use most accurate land management data layer.

This layer depicts montane meadow vegetation on National Forests in the Sierra Nevada range. Meadows are wet and dry grassland types and short emergent meadow types maintained by man-made dams. Vegetation consists of a mixture of grasses, perennial herbs, rushes, and sedges. Woody vegetation is typically associated with riparian meadows. Riparian vegetation can be shrub or tree form, such as willow, alder, cottonwood, and aspen types. Meadow types are coded as wet or dry, with or without woody vegetation, or short emergent wetland. Meadow polygons are mapped to a minimum of 5 acres. CALVEG types within a meadow polygon are mapped to a minimum of 2.5 acres.

Predictive model of the number of Warbling Vireo adult captures expected during the operation of a standard Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) station (http://www.birdpop.org/maps.htm ). EBird observations (all historical records, May-Jul inclusive) were superimposed upon the predictive model for visual validation of predictions (yellow dots). Warbling Vireo AHY predictive model states that more adult individuals are captured at higher elevations, lower latitudes, and associated with high percent forest cover at 90m resolution. Bozdogan's ICOMP information complexity index selected the following model Warbling Vireo - VizBand/Land AIC Model Selection Created: 17-May-2011 Warbling Vireo...

This map layer consists of federally owned or administered lands of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. For the most part, only areas of 320 acres or more are included; some smaller areas deemed to be important or significant are also included. There may be private inholdings within the boundaries of Federal lands in this map layer. Some established Federal lands which are larger than 320 acres are not included in this map layer, because their boundaries were not available from the owning or administering agency.
