In August 2017, the U.S. Geological Survey acquired high-resolution P- and S-wave seismic data near six Southern California Seismic Network (SCSN) recording stations in southern California: CI.OLI Olinda; CI.SRN Serrano; CI.MUR Murrieta; CI.LCG La Cienega; CI.RUS Rush; and CI.STC Santa Clara (Figure 1). These strong-motion recording stations are located inside Southern California Edison electrical substations, critical infrastructures that provide essential services to millions of customers. These data were collected in support of an effort to improve estimates of depth to bedrock through a collaborative project between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP), and Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey (WGNHS). This data collection includes ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data and related observations collected from the NASA Goddard Instrument Field Team (GIFT) Expedition to the Icelandic Highlands in July-August 2019 and August 2021. This dataset includes observations at the Askja Volcano and caldera and Vikrahraun lava flow. GPR data were collected using Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc (GSSI) shielded bistatic antennas at center frequencies of 200 MHz, 400 MHz, and 900 MHz. Relative-gravity surveys were carried out using a ZLS Burris relative-gravity meter. The effect of solid Earth tides and ocean loading were removed from the data. Instrument drift was removed by evaluating gravity change during repeated measurements at one or more base stations. Absolute-gravity surveys were carried out using a Micro-g LaCoste, Inc.
