The Geologic Map Index of Alaska (Map Index) is an online, interactive web mapping application that provides access to an actively growing geographic index of geology-related maps of Alaska and adjacent areas. This online research tool provides the locations and outlines of most DGGS and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologic and geophysical maps of Alaska in a single, interactive web map. It allows searches of the map database by geographic area of interest, keywords, themes, publishing agency, dates, and other criteria. This digital publication, GPR 2014-3, contains CGG's analysis and interpretation of data produced from airborne geophysical surveys published by DGGS in 2013 (GPR 2013-1) for the Southern Dishna River, Fox Hills, and Beaver Creek survey areas. Fortymile mining district electromagnetic and magnetic airborne geophysical survey, data compilation
The Fortymile electromagnetic and magnetic airborne geophysical survey data were acquired with a DIGHEM-V Electromagnetic (EM) system and a cesium magnetometer. The EM and magnetic sensors were flown at a height of 30 meters (m). In addition the survey recorded data from radar and laser altimeters, a GPS navigation system, 50/60 Hz monitors and a video camera. Flights were performed with an AS-350-B2 Squirrel helicopter at a mean terrain clearance of 60 m along N-S survey flight lines with a spacing of 400 m. This publication, GPR 2017-1, provides geophysical data produced from an airborne geophysical survey conducted in 2001 and released in 2002 for 276 sq miles of the Liberty Bell area, western Bonnifield mining district, central Alaska. Aeromagnetic and electromagnetic data were acquired during the survey. During 2016, the same digital data were reformatted for ease of use with modern processing tools; vector shapefiles and the analytic signal and calculated first vertical derivative grids were added. This digital publication, GPR 2008-3, contains data produced from airborne geophysical surveys conducted in 2007 and 2008 for the Styx River Survey area, southcentral Alaska. Aeromagnetic and electromagnetic data were acquired for about 715 sq miles. Data provided in GPR 2008-3 include (1) raw and processed linedata in Geosoft ASCII XYZ files, (2) gridded files of magnetic data, a calculated vertical magnetic gradient (first vertical derivative), apparent resistivity data, and a digital elevation model, (3) flight lines in vector format, and maps of the data in PDF format. This Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) Raw Data File presents U-Pb geochronology and Lu-Hf isotopic compositions, age-dating results, and additional trace-elemental composition of zircons from four granitoids sampled during investigations by DGGS geologists in the western Alaska Range and the Talkeetna Mountains. The purpose of the Lu-Hf and U-Pb isotopic study was to better understand the Jurassic through early Tertiary magmatic and tectonic evolution of the Alaska Range and the significance of that magmatism for the formation of metallic mineral deposits. This map shows the subcrop pattern of the Mesozoic rock units present at the top Mesozoic unconformity (also commonly referred to as the base Tertiary unconformity) in Cook Inlet basin, Alaska. The subcrop is projected onto the top Mesozoic unconformity depth surface of Cook Inlet basin, Alaska, published by Shellenbaum and others (2010). Publicly available geologic and geophysical data from multiple sources were collected, interpreted, and integrated into the subcrop map. Frequency domain electromagnetic data and magnetic geophysical data were collected below a helicopter using a 30 meter (m) long line and a towed bird for the 1997 Iron Creek survey. The geophysical data were acquired with a DIGHEM-V Electromagnetic (EM) system, a Scintrex cesium magnetometer, and a Herz VLF system installed in on AS350B-2 Squirrel helicopter. This publication, GPR 2015-3, contains geophysical data produced from airborne surveys conducted in 1996 and released in 1997 for 415 sq miles of the Petersville mining district, Alaska by the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS). Aeromagnetic and electromagnetic data were acquired during the helicopter-based surveys. During 2004, the same digital data were reformatted for ease of use with modern processing tools, vector files and the 56,000 Hz resistivity grid, were added, and new color maps were produced. The Alaska Geologic Data Index (AGDI) is an actively growing index of unpublished geologic data collected throughout the state of Alaska. The records captured range from project documents to imagery to geochemical data. The index is designed to contain data and documents pertaining to all related fields of geology, including oil and gas, geologic engineering, minerals industry, scientific data, and agency archives. The index can refer to paper or digital information. Agencies, institutions, and the public are encouraged to contribute unpublished data to this dataset.
